@byronbee Yes indeed! I played this so much. I actually have two cassettes of this album. It was the white tapes so all the words are worn off so I had to write "The Swing " on it in magic marker. I`ve had both of those cassettes since the 80`s. I even have Underneath the Colurs on cassettes but The Swing is my favorite.

I love the songs"Horizon","Learn To Smile""Follow","Stay Young",man the debut was good too. Yet "The Swing" is my favorite album by them. I even still have Michael Hutchence`s side project "Max Q" on cassette. Love that album too.

As a drummer I can honestly say that Jon Farriss's licks are amongst some of the most recognisable and fun to play. Get this.....a number of years ago, one of my old bandmates mentioned he had a drummer friend who managed to score one of Jon's old acoustic set-ups! Don't ask me how, but that's what I got told!

I probably will be pilloried, tarred and feathered, drawn and quartered, etc., but "The Swing" is an album that stands on its own now, even better than it did when it was released. I've listened to it thousands (really!) of times since I bought my first copy in 1984. It's one of the 10 best albums of the 80's. And its best song to me was "The Swing" and I can't even find it on youtube.

You're right Meatcloud. This is from the "dekadance" (cigarette case) cassette released in 1985. Distorted guitars and no echo on the chorus amongst other things. It is outstanding. And INXS's best song.
