However, we need to find more efficient ways of reforming it; ways that don't give health insurance to people that don't have it. It is available, but it's not the Governments job to find you health insurance. Plus, the bill costs too much and we're already in huge deficits. It's just not the thing we need right now.
We have been hearing that same argument now for more than 60 years... When will be the right time? Will it be to late by then? Will it be less expensive if we wait.. or will the problems just be worse and therefore cost more?

Jackson had but seven album releases as an adult; even if Thriller did sell 100 million copies, which it didnt, its by far Jacksons biggest selling release.

Off the Wall, Bad and Dangerous were big albums as well, but even if you want to make the generous case that all of Jacksons other albums each sold twice as much overseas as they did in the U.S. that gets you only to a total of 200 million.
And even if he sold five million copies each of his biggest 20 hit singles, which he didnt, thats only 300 million.
As for the Jackson 5, remember that their heyday lasted for all of 18 months in a much smaller world.

It needs to be reformed, like everything else mainly because its getting old and the times are changing. However, we need to find more efficient ways of reforming it; ways that don't give health insurance to people that don't have it. It is available, but it's not the Governments job to find you health insurance. Plus, the bill costs too much and we're already in huge deficits. It's just not the thing we need right now.

It is a newer form of technology commonly used by a great deal of people. Before this they used little pieces of paper. I realize that for some people it may be a little distracting kind of like a shiny object.. perhaps that is why you never seem to be able to focus enough to actually retain any information. It will be ok I promise. Teleprompters are perfectly safe.

I don't know who knew this man personally or not but I am sure they take moments of silence for anyone who contributes to this nation. Have you seen the out pour from around the world concerning MJ. I am in Korea and at the American Embassy they putting flowers, pictures and cards on the gate. So it's a big deal and they should recognize him.

He isn't any better than anyone else. I realize the whole world is having memorials.. I get that.. but it doesn't belong in politics.. especially when the person who died may have in fact died because of a drug addiction.. and was possibly a pedophile. The evidence is strong to suggest both are in fact true. He is a legend.. this is true but as I said this has no place in politics.

I don't think smartassawhip should be marked down, because it is true: Farrah died the same DAY as Michael and the House didn't recognize her. And as I mentioned in another comment, they didn't do this for Elvis or other musicians when they died.
I love Michael's music and I say he was our generation's Fred Astaire, but a moment in the House? When no one else got the same thing?
He was a simple kid from Indiana. He might be embarrassed by all this.

Michael Jackson is not more important than anyone else who died yesterday. What about the countless children who are dying as we speak from disease and hunger ? They seem to get a perpetual moment of silence (i.e. no one seems to give a damn). I will miss MJ, however, the Congress needs to be focused on more important issues.

I am all for a moment of silence for Michael Jackson, but to have our House of Representatives do this on our dime, is out of order. They should do this off camera and on their own time. How many times have they held a moment of silence for our men and women who have sacrificed their lives in Iraq, and Afghanistan since 2003? This is disgraceful!
