"I'm his doctor." Ohhhh my. I really liked this pilot, but my biggest issue is that I wasn't watching John and Sherlock, I was watching John and Benedict Cumberbatch. I'm glad he really polished his performance for the actual series because he's absolutely spot-on normally. He just undersold it in this one.
"To my certain knowledge this man hasn't eaten for several days. Now if you want him alive for your next case, what he's going to do right now is have dinner."
"And only a fool argues with his doctor."
<3<3<3<3<3 I love it! They should have kept that bit!<3
"You're looking for a man with a history of military service, nerves of steel....." ::headcannon:: "Adorably unasuming, hideously sexy, and DEFINITELY who I consider 'my area'"
xD I love how there is a moment where it looks as though John realises he's gay. In this pilot episode he breathes out just before the credits, if you watch the real first episode he looks away at the ground for a moment as if he's just noticed something.
Thank you so much for uploading this! Wonder if this was supposed to be more of a "rough cut" anyway or if they initially actually intended to air it like this. The style has changed almost completely even down to the music and the character of Sherlock himself.
Love how Martin Freeman already gives a stout performance whereas they apparently didn't quite know into which direction Cumberbatch's Sherlock should go yet. (Glad they dropped the Van Helsing type roof scene btw.)
@LOLrigole it was supposed to be the first episode. sherlock was originally set for 13 one hour episodes per season. then they added a bit more & changed it to 3 1 & a half hour episodes per season instead. in a way im glad..cuz in those longer shows we actually see the world from sherlock's POV..what with the "mind palace" & the written words that sherlock sees but others dont. there were no written words in this one when he's looking at the pink lady.
@mystiquesword Ah, thanks for the info! Yeah, I agree, I think that way they can put much more attention and commitment in doing the fewer episodes properly. Which in fact they did, everything looks as if it's taken at least 6 x the effort that they have put into the pilot. Plus, Holmes seems to be much more defined.
@WaiMomoTan I prefered the aired one especially the moment in which sherlock realized that john was the shooter and shoot it self I think it was all more intense
From the moment, when Sherlock comes to John, I see the glittering in their eyes and smiles. Like little invisible stars are floating around them and sparkling between them. Like two teens who fall in love:) The chemistry in that scene is just magnificent.
John: "Where's what?"
Sherlock: "Don't, just don't. What did you do with the gun?" *cute smile*
John: "... And then I thought, better keep an eye on you." *so careful*
2:55-3:05 So romantic :') lol

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see this episode as a kind of proof Sherlock and John are gay? They're friends, people. FRIENDS.
