  • Wasn't this meant to be a lesson lol more of an advert

  • @SIZZAL07 Greetings, yes we do have some very FINE sponsors who endorse the EZGTR efforts so we try and keep them happy as well . This is the INTRO segment and 17 detailed "lesson" segments follow...

    :)

  • AWESOME

  • 1:50, what's the name of that guitar? :p

    its so awesome!

  • @arnimann94 at 1:38 the answer is given lol

    It is a Godin Multiac

  • Hey, thanks for the lesson and the eBook, it helps me a lot. Thanks teacher;)

  • @Aloy500 You are very welcome and thanks for the awesome note. I sure hope the lessons help you out in your guitar playing.

    Dan

  • cool

  • Dan -

Not sure if this question makes sense. I'm studying major modes. Obviously this piece is in D. Is the piece ALSO in some mode- like D-Aoelian for example? Or does it change modes throughout.

I also play a Prophecy- an Epiphone Prophecy GX. OMG its as beautiful as it sounds too..

    Later gator.

  • To be honest I have not thoroughly analyzed the score that intensively as far as modal use in the melody. I love the song as much as the next guy but too much to do, not enough time for the minutia.

  • I wasn't asking about the mode in an *acedemic* sense.

One of my teachers said it makes learning a song much easier if you know what scale it's built on. D-Aeolian being different than D-Phyrgian for example.

I'll ask him why others say what he considers essential, other experts consider insignificant?

  • @malabarspyder Gotcha, well if you want to look at it in those terms yes it always helps to know the lay of the land per se...

I am not a true authority of the modes although) being that the Canon is based around D Major I would think it is fair to say Ionian would be the main modal sound without further analyzation of the score.

I would think it best for me to not confuse a lot of folks on something I am not 100% clear on either.

  • thank you I will ask my teacher if I can reach him. You know us musician types he's sort of an airhead!

But what he said does sort of make sense- if you know the mode is Aeolian then you automically know it has a whole step from 7 to 8 and 1/2 steps on the 3rd and 6th. Makes reading the notes faster for me (although I'm still TERRIBLE)!

Thanks again for posting the lessons and for your most kind personal replies! You are a gentleman and a scholar!

  • ack might help if I started at the BEGINNING sorry prof-

    M.S.

  • COOL WE JUST HIT 10,000 VIEWS..! Thanks everybody

  • @EZGTR

Seems to me that if you haven't got a fancy machine like the one you've got, the sound won't be anything like what you'd expect to hear.

  • @alangriff1 Nah that ain't true, you can get a good sound out of just about any amp that you are happy with. I just happened to be very excited that Rocktron came on board and helped sponsor the efforts and yes indeed the Rocktron Prophesy and their power amp DO ROCK, big time...!

But that should not get in the way of anything I hope.

  • What Guitar effect is that?i have been searching for that for sometime.

  • I am using a Godin Multiac ACS (thin neck nylon String) and it really is a superb instrument.

Here I am running it through a high-gain patch via the Rocktron ProphesyII with slight delay/chorus.

  • cool

  • cool

  • Well said tutorials. But i have a problem. Im learning the Canon introduction right now ? which ones do i learn next and in what order

  • borysek01 , the first lesson is appropriately titled "Pachelbel's Canon - 1" etc..

they are all numbered in sequence although you may have to sift through the "More From: EZGTR" videos to find them at this point as I have uploaded lots of videos.

  • the first song u played ,, it reminded me much of Canon rock ? xD

  • LOL well... one may wonder just how Canon rock even came into existence? :)

  • yea good question?

I know jerry C made it but not much details........

    oh well

    :)

  • I don't think you repeated any lines...finally a true guitar canon!

  • i hope this song got you laid.

  • LOL...

  • lol!

  • thanks

    sorry rated wrong

i wanted 5 stars but i accidentaly cliked 1 star sorry

  • That's okay. I'll give him a 5 stars on your behalf to compensate. ;-)

    You owe me one.

  • Hey no worries, ratings are not that big of a deal... What matters is that you enjoy the videos and get some inspiration and knowledge from them.

    Dan

    Looking forward for your vidz

  • Sorry, did I speak a good English ... You did a great job and I think classical music should have a higher value because it is one of the most beautiful music and more difficult to be played!

    By =D

  • amazzinngg man. thanks for the add by the way =]

  • how long have u been playing m8, awesome vid

  • Long time my friend, thank you!

    Dan

  • sounds kinda like canon rock

  • Obviously lol

  • It sounds kinda like canon rock because this is an adaptation of the "original" string quartet composition created a very long time ago.

Canon Rock of course is a modern interpretation of the classical piece and is only a "few short years old" although immensely popular at that which is very cool.

  • I like your tutorials, specially the different chords used. Imma subscribe. ^^

  • Thank you! We are happy to know you get value out of our lessons!

  • Great work Dan. Keep it up.

People should sign up and grab your

    valuable training immediately.

    Khaliq Glover aka Khaliq-O-Vision

  • Thanks Khaliq!!!

And for any of you folks reading this that produce/engineer your own music you "need" to check out what Khaliq is doing.

He is giving away tons of FREE info on how to record your music and make it "irresistible".

  • Hey Dan! Sweet video and amazing playing. We really enjoyed listening. Thanks for supporting RiffWorks!

  • Wow! I really loved this interpretation! I listen to metal and I love the stuff that guitar players like Alexi Laiho and others do. But hey, I found out how beautiful can a guitar played in a symphnoy can be. Awesome, great work. Btw... That's a Godin for sure, what model are you using? Thanks!

  • Why thank you! :)

Yes that is a Multiac ACS (thin neck)and it really is a superb instrument. Here I am running it through a high-gain patch via the ProphesyII.

Please stay tuned as the next segment is due out very soon and (depending on my schedule) each subsequent lesson segment will follow a week later.

    Happy New Year!
