  • I don't like how when Google Cloud Connect messes up it keeps me from closing Word. It starts to require that internet is working correctly in order for Office to work right. It's frustrating and there are not obvious buttons to tell it to remove or go away.

  • Cool, so it's sort of like a much shittier version of Google Wave. Nice. Still pretty happy that was canceled, ya know, so we could make room for shit like this instead. Again, nice. Keep it up.

  • will it support Microsoft Office 2011 someday?

  • will it support Microsoft Office 2011?

  • I think things would be a lot better if user interfaces were like in Google's videos.

  • Why does Google pact with Microsoft ??

  • @Wiew09 bc they are both against Apple.

  • Buena idea....

  • It doesnt work at all

  • Bob :)

  • Very Good!

  • Great Great...

Greater if we could use it for free -__-

  • why does Youtube post full names of people without there permission and when flagging them they seem to create a new search link instead of deleting it....i've seen nice peoples names defamed by this site so becarefull check your own name on google search link it might be used on youtube and if it is they will never take it down !!!

  • Yay!

  • Bet Microsoft 365 team are loving this.......

  • he is not bob !!!!

    he's boobs

  • I want to work at google

  • I would rather use something similar, but delivered by Microsoft. I really thinks it would be better, since I have used google docs and it is painful, not even colse to the well polished good old MS Office.

  • This is awesome just need it to be available for Macs

  • @MrHatch1988 they got "their" innovation the iCloud

  • @aleksandersandstrom lol yeah which is dumb but i like the Mac computers but hate everything else Apple. I use MS Office on my Mac

  • Very nice...am gonna try it out

  • פשוט גאוני

  • Google Cloud Connect is not available for Mac. So sad!

Do Google plans to make such plugin for Mac-platform?

  • @Ari6n Mac is gay and they KNOW that - no.

  • it's é very bom

  • I wish i could install a plug in on my washing machine and then share it with my wife who is now abroad. :)

  • @ariesmp mate, i wish i could give this comment more thumbs up LOL

  • @ariesmp

haha, learn how to do it yourself and you will be a better person with empowerment and perhaps cleaner clothes

  • I always though Google Docs like PPT and Word sucks cuz it mess up all the settings.... But this... this will change everything!!!

  • Hmm I need a version which is available in the form of appliance. I.e. I need apps and sync and all this stuff 'hosted' at my server's room where my IT staff maintains security - because we're a financial institution and we're NOT U.S. residents.

  • Who's Kim? And where the hell is Alice ??? Bob you bastard....

  • the people who disliked dont have google accounts =D

  • Im sorry I am unaware, How do you make such a video..?? Can it made free online or via free software...Pls let me know.Thanks..!

  • Google Cloud Connect para MS Office, o plugin do Google para o pacote Office! Veja +

  • I hope this is actually as good as they are saying it is! THIS WILL BE AWESOME!

  • Very nice =)

  • so you can edit the same file together at the same time and you if person A types in a word, person B can see this a few seconds later? (my english is not that good can somebody explain please?)

  • MAKE IT FOR THE MAC.

  • Can anyone explain to me why the interface is SO nasty?

  • So google copied Dropbox? :/

  • I wish this could integrate OneNote Notebooks too :)

  • Google has definitely given more to this world than religions did.

  • it's just you. sorry. :-)

  • is it just me, or is her voice incredibly annoying?

  • What about Microsoft Office 2004, 2008, and 2011? What about us?

  • You are the best!!! awesome tool!! I'm a Google fan..great work!!

  • Can we just agree to call a "Power Point presentation" a "slide show"?

  • @TheLonelyImmortal I don't want to be an ass, but it depends... is it made in powerpoint and it has that file extension I think it should be called an powerpoint presentation. If it, when it is finished it has another extension like a gif animation or whatever extension is uses as a finished product it should be called a "slide show" or a "slide show presentation". Unless the extension is a microsoft file that only works with their programs...

  • But what the hell can't I disable this pannel when I don't need it?

  • This video made me get a massive boner!

  • @dutky90 ha ha ha....I got only goosbumps...but at the pubic hair.....

  • if i was a business man i would be PUMPED

  • Sorry, where does this get stored again?

Related: the word cloud was mentioned 13 times in this 2min 21sec video.

  • It's good, I've already tried it out.but unfortunately both persons need to have office - its not possible to edit the same doc in word and gDocs at the same time

  • it would be easier if you just used Google Docs it free its easy and is just like microsoft office with cloud connect,

  • @kingandreas9 gotit

    skydrive too.

    Blooosh!

  • Do you have it for OpenOffice [dot] org?

  • superb

  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint are in compatibility mode.. so it does not support the new docx, xlsx, and pptx format.

    CRAP

  • @AndreaFranchitti Yes it does. The video says it works for Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 and 2010. :)

  • @danielie It says you can install in those programs.. but what about the files extensions supported? The programs are crearly in compatibility mode.

  • naum tem nem vergonha de colocar o ipad e o iphone!!! fodanehhh...

  • I have been waiting a long, long time for something like this. The syncing is just icing on the cake!

  • This works great! Now all we need is a plugin for Microsoft Publisher.

  • This has potential.

  • Thanks for the great video!

  • keep on rocking google!!

maybe a default collection "Office something" would be nice for the first time of an office doc sync, plus the ability to browse in the google cloud the office docs through this plug-in(something like "open from google cloud" while you are running an office appl).

    anyway thank you google!!

  • Isso é a maravilha da Nuvem!

  • You would have to be an idiot to show or leave your private companies files with Google.

  • inherently wrong? microgle.

  • What about Open Office or Libre Office ? Is there any plugin for these applications or alternative solutions for linux ?

  • @caglardursun Open office has had this for almost 2 years.

  • @mpolito But Open Office uses third party extensions created by users and not the official one.

  • @mpolito u need an open office account...sry but everybody hacks that shit

  • @caglardursun Yes...name = OOo2GD. This is an OpenOffice extension that does this. It is a bit less automated...but having configured the plugin and established the connection to Google...saving to the local computer does a back-up to Google. PC side works - Mac does not - Linux ?

  • @caglardursun

nobody gives a shit about linux

  • @caglardursun

For Ubuntu users there is ubuntu cloud that give 1Gb per user where you can put everything and share it.

  • ya hacia falta este producto, gracias Google

  • its great but the toolbar spoils the image of the workspace. Would be cooler if it was a ribbon on its own

  • pretty neat, and is more consumer oriented than microsoft's apps, so props to google.

it's actually possible to license office 2010 and sharepoint 2010 under the MS partner agreement, it actually works out far cheaper than the google apps for business, but i'd love to see how this works out.

can we expect an on-premise version that companies that have contractual obligations to keep customer content out of the cloud can use?

  • ពិតជាពិេសសមែន បងប្អូន! Well done, Google!

  • pretty neat, of course any corporation with office 2010 and sharepoint 2010 have been able to do this for some time (google search "sharepoint 2010 collaboration office word"), but google's offering is more consumer oriented, so gets props too! :)

  • subversion + marketing to tech noobs = Google Cloud Connect

  • I have had this for a while, I assume it is now, no longer confidential?

  • This is lame, because there is no way to hide that annoying bar.

  • Thumbs Up to Google Cloud Connect (GCC)! really make things easier and I really love it 'coz I am a regular Google Docs user.. Downloaded!. Thank you.

  • It's not available for mac! WTF!

  • @SkreetGil lol windows ftw..

  • @Vikramthewhite Fuck you! lol!

  • @SkreetGil Sadly, Office for Mac does not offer any kind of API that would be needed for integrating a plug-in.

  • This looks like a much more advanced version of how I'm using it with Dropbox:

putting a word document in a Dropbox public folder and sharing the link.

  • 1 person has heights phobia! ;)

  • Does anyone know what effect plugins used in this video? I think it might be made by After Effect?

    Many thanks!

  • finally this came up....i imagined this happening like 10 years ago...congrats

  • This is AWESOME!

  • oh God I hate add-ins for Office 2007

  • YEAH! Come and let Google get all your informations and business secrets and SHARE it with NSA,CIA, and whatever names they game those guys. ITS FUN!! Go and LET US KNOW YOUR STUFF! ALL FREE!!

  • @axel1973w Just don't save your collaborations with Ben Laden in Google Cloud... just saying.

  • @Alfangos , WT F? How did you know about it already ????!?!? ;-P

  • @axel1973w fair point, but from an educator or student perspective this is more useful than intrusive. For example, if Google wants to data mine my biochemistry lecture notes then that's fine with me, as long as the service is still free.

  • @Joshlandsen , i agree with you if you are following the "information wants to be free" or "open source" movement. but even though if you doing public services like pharmaceutical studies that LATER will become published and freely be available, there are states or stages of the whole project (or just some data) you are highly adviced to keep it covered while not final. And as we all know, google (and the U.S. Government in special) ALWAYS got access to all google knowleges.

  • .. but no version for office 2008 and 2011 :(

  • @arvidsever what the hell? there's no 2008 and 2011 version.

  • @arvidsever Works well with Office 2011

  • INSIGHTFUL YOUTUBE COMMENT:

    AWESOME!!!

  • This has potential for my environment at work. This is the kind of integration with microsoft products that will direct IT shops to lean towards google in the future. thank you, google.

  • This is great! :D But It doesn't work the way I want it to... I want to be able to use Microsoft Office on my school laptop, but when I'm at home I want to be able to use my other computer, which doesn't have Office installed, so I wan't to be able to edit my documents on the web, on Google Docs, but the document won't sync then.

  • this is cool

  • Google Cloud Connect comes to solve the Microsoft cloud issues.

  • Why use office if google docs is simpler and easier to use? I always use google docs right away I hate microsoft office.

  • Many (most?) Microsoft Office users resist change. This is for them. It works well for Google to solve the revision-file nightmare before Microsoft can. It's all part of embrace and replace... a strategy Microsoft knows well.

  • Who still uses Office 2003?

I'm guessing this video has just been made public considering the number of views and the upload date.

  • @Esebi95 Me.

  • @Esebi95 I still use Office 2003 because it's the best version they've made so far. 2007 and 2010 look pretty but they're less practical. It took me at least an hour to find the macros button in the 2007 version of Excel.

  • @MurderScene93

2007 is much more easy but you need to understand the way it is organized.

  • @MurderScene93 How could it take an hour, all you have to do is check the tabs on the ribbon at the top. Besides you can use Help by searching for Macros.

  • @Esebi95 You have to click something to make it even show you the macros button. I did use Help but that didn't tell me where the button is. In 2003 it takes 2 clicks, in 2007 it takes 4.

  • Why on earth would they release this for Open Office? They're trying to get more of the enterprise market to move to Google Apps and the enterprise market mostly uses Microsoft Office. If you want this sort of functionality for Open Office, then just stop using it and use Google Docs.

  • So this is basicly Google Docs for Microsoft Docs?
