I was actually lucky enough to meet Jai yesterday in PC World and get his autograph, he was actually quite shy. He's a lovely guy in more ways than one.

Fabulous voice genuine guy, the Royal Variety is a really big deal for someone so new to the business - give the man a break he's a great talent.

And not a particularly good performance either: he should care more about his audience than his own fear - if he did, his fear would disappear. Someone who is involved with him should care for about his career. A performance should not leave you thinking, "The choir was quite nice." Big venue, huge opportunity: He's blowing it.

I wanted to like U2's version, but I just couldn't. But this version has me singing along every time I hear it. Maybe you think differently, but I've fallen in love with this song. I think it's beautiful.

I like his voice, especially when he uses it.

This is brilliant, and I think Jai McDowell is fantastic, but I was a little disappointed the Scala didn't perform this on their own, because of the popularity of their version from Downton Abbey, but nonetheless, it is still incredible!
