  • I saw Paul in 2002 in Minneapolis and it was completely wonderful.

  • hey, really good version, one of my favourite Paul Kelly songs!

if you're bothered i'd appreciate it if you could tell me the chords? i can only find tabs and only can figure out a few from your hands, thanks

  • I love this song, very well done :)

  • Wonderful job! Beautiful song, beautifully covered.

  • My little brother grizzled for a little minute......

  • @jakyjac63

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • He's my favourite oz musician. Great choice and played well. Good work

  • One of my favourite tunes! A fantastic version, I'm going to go home and learn it again. Still to see Paul Kelly live in concert, which is a bit silly since I live in Melbourne!! He must play here 10 times a year. Love your work mate!

  • @JonnyGeetar Thanks JG. You must go and see him. and if possible with any of the bluegrass guys he plays with from time to time. It'll be a treat. Go on.., you deserve it....

    Paul.

  • is there a pattern to the finger picking so i can have a shot at playing the song

  • Hmmm, Never really thought about it. However, I would be heavy on the thumb - say on a C chord rotating from C to G notes. keeping the thythm steady... Normally use one other finger.. (2nd) to strum ((down stroke) and pick (up)

if that makes sense> You could of course just strum or pick.

    Paul

  • Where can I buy your records man? ;) No seriously, I really like your covers, I only wish you would do more of them.

  • Thanks for that encouraging comment. I'm working on something at the moment and hope to have an album ready before the end of the year.

I'll keep your info and let you know how things go.. Thanks Again - and how could I forget your great name - 'Wootume'

  • Thanks Airfooled, and yeah, that's what I thought. However later discovered that he acually says My kid brother grizzled for a little minute .... Makes more sense.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Paul

  • great cover of an excellent song mate. would love to hear some more! oh yeah - a kunckle game- or knuckles, is a game where you have to hit your knuckles on youre opponents... if you miss, its their turn to hit you back.

  • beautiful man, paul kelly is one of the best if not the best musician to come out of aus, so raw and melodical, you did him justice!

  • i really rate your version of this song. thanks for your video

  • Thanks for your comment. I really do appreciate it,

    Paul

  • Excellent. Not familiar with Paul Kelly, but I will check him out now. Well done.

    Paul

  • I listened to your cover of Taneytown and then this song. I truly hope you post more. Your voice is perfect for the songs you're picking and really hit me right.

    All the best,

    Paul

  • Thanks.

  • Yes I did, I saw him at a great little venue in Cork - about a two hour drive. He was just brilliant. The journey home seemed so short. Dont miss him when he'e back again.

    Thanks for the comment.

    Paul

  • Great job! Very smooth with nice acoustics in that room.

  • Thanks yzbloo... A converted attic space - lots of timber. Sounds much better here, before recording on my laptop. Must get some decent equipment...

  • smooth man- right fine

  • Thanks again - off to see Paul Kelly in concert tonight and looking forward to it.

  • This is another great PK song. Nice cover too

  • Thanks, I hear He's playing three gigs in Ireland in August - Looking forward to seeing him.

  • He sure is. I'm only a recent convert... Introduced by Aussi family. He has a wonderful gift... as you have.

    Thanks, Paul

  • We were driving back late from the country one night, Mum & Dad up front and the rest of us snug and tight. My kid brother grizzled for a little minute, til my big sister told him he better quit it or die. It had been a long day in the countryside playing with the cousins on my mother's side the sounds of the radio closed our eyes drifting across the seat. Then I fell asleep. Well I don't know what woke me up maybe a country song or a big truck passing by.

  • This is a really nice cover, well done. You asked about some of the lyrics could I trade them for the chords you have used? I'll put them in the next comment to make sure they fit.

  • Yhanks for that. I sent you and e-mail with the chords to the first verse. Yhe nexr two are the same.

I use a capo on the 3rd fret. The song moves from C to Am twice and then to F, C and G. It then resolves to Am. Let me know if that works for you

    Paul
