I thought The Book of Eli was awesome, and not just from the violence. The movie is caked in symbolism; the hairless cat (the pharaohs taken down by Christians), all the walking (like Jesus), heading West (Jesus was mainly in the West), the blind mother's name was Annamaria (Mary), he was shot and came back (crucifixion and resurrection), he obviously did a lot of extremely unrealistic crap (with the help of God), etc.
God I hate movie critics. The Book of Eli was a great movie with a really good message. Critics just try to find as many things wrong with a movie as possible. Even though some of the points they make aren't even plausible.

well if you listen to each of there shows, rotten tomatoes (the site) itself doesnt do any reviews. they take a bunch a reviews from the web and professional critics and mix there reviews all together into the scores that they show.
meaning while some movies like Book Of Eli will get "i loved it" or "i hate it" reviews, other films that are consistent with reviews like zombie land will get a consistent score.
Who are these hosts (Mainly the girl) it's like they down talk movies even more than they need to be just to seem like good reviewers and then they make fun of the movies bad humor or stupid punch lines WITH bad humor and stupid punch lines, the guy isn't bad but fuck that girl is annoying.
They totally overlooked the whole point of the Book of Eli. And for those of you who said the Bible would be useless, or they should just burn it: Ray Bradbury (author of Fahrenheit 451) said that in order to rebuild civilization, the most essential things would be a hospital and a library. Whether you agree with it or not, the Bible is a key book in our world's history, and as seen by the end of the movie, is an important addition to their library.

Book of Eli: Gary Oldman is the Greatest actor of the 20th century! (Only time will tell if he's the greatest of the 21st.) Still, every actor should be allowed at least one flop, this movie is not it.

well if you listen to each of there shows, rotten tomatoes (the site) itself doesnt do any reviews. they take a bunch a reviews from the web and professional critics and mix there reviews all together into the scores that they show.
meaning while some movies like Book Of Eli will get "i loved it" or "i hate it" reviews, other films that are consistent with reviews like zombie land will get a consistent score.

They totally overlooked the whole point of the Book of Eli. And for those of you who said the Bible would be useless, or they should just burn it: Ray Bradbury (author of Fahrenheit 451) said that in order to rebuild civilization, the most essential things would be a hospital and a library. Whether you agree with it or not, the Bible is a key book in our world's history, and as seen by the end of the movie, is an important addition to their library.
