According to an interview with Pete Comita, there was a lot of tension during this show between him and the other guys. Apparently, he said he had already quit the band at this time and the band was pissed off at him for it.
According to John Munson of "The New Standards" (and Semisonic/Trip Shakespeare). Munson said he was talking to Rick when he revealed that fact. He mentions that story every time they play their cover of that song.
So often in the early days they had Rick's sound levels down even in this trademark song, where his two mini-solos were key to the whole performance. Check on some fo the other vids from around '79 and see if you don't agree. But here they had him powered up, and it made a difference.
A fantastic band that was one of founders and creators of Power Pop. Real road warriors who still play and do a damn good job today, even Robin Zander with the high notes.
nice video thanks for sharing very interesting .. god bless
