very sad movie, great acting on every corner and then this masterpiece of music, expressing the mood of the scene and what happened throughout the storyline.
This particular song from the film score goes perfectly with the scene when Travolta is telling the general he will be court-marshalled. In a way it is like the general's daughter didn't die in vein and even in her death, she still got justice! Betrayal is such a horrible thing.
@plzletmego87 To add to this, when it side-scrolls showing the pictures of her from when she was a child until showing her army pictures gives that scene at the end of the movie such an emotional impact!
The music is very sad. It perfectly match a theme of the film.
When I watched this film I was shocked. I decided to check in the Internet and now I feel kind of relieve that movie was based on a novel and, fortunately, not on facts... Anyway, the impact of the film is still very strong.
This is one of my favorite movies. If not my favorite, especially for the brilliance of John Travolta's sensitive acting in it. What a story..Betrayal is the worst thing, I agree. For such a sad story it was beautifully done by all the actors. Even Timothy Hutton at the end when he is speaking of his obsession with her. And yes, this piece of music is unbelievably moving because of it's strength and yet has this softness to it note wise that makes you think of a young woman with hope, dying.
@aaisles I would agree it is a truly under rated under appreciated movie. Another great movie along the same lines in In the Valley of Elah. Tommie Lee Jones
i like this movie and i like the act of john travolta. this is a great army movie and my favourite line is "for army there is three way- right way, wrong way and army way.
@mdrehan1 youre right this is a great movie. what thing you have to realize is that the logic behind the three ways of doing things-the right way the wrong way and the army goes all the way back to Jesus day...where the preservation of sacred tradition, even when one has to lie to do it, all too often takes precedence over the truth
My favourite line was "When I told you we would catch the son-a- bitch responsible I never knew that son-of-a bitch would be you." General Campbell said Col. Kent killed her. No he put her out of her misery! You killed her in that hospital room when you told her to forget about it you killed her! Col. Moore asked whats worser than rape now I know!
