This is what wikipedia has to say about C3 convertase,
" C3 convertase was, in classical terms, C4b2a; however, in keeping with the number and letter scheme, it was changed to C4b2b in the 1990s to reflect the enzymatic activity of the C2b fragment" I don't think articles in wikipedia are validated by peers ? dr4humanity can you critic my comment ?
I have never seen anyone explain the complement system as Dr Najeeb, hes amazing.
c4b2a is c3 convertase is used in the new books and c4b2b convertase which is used in the old books. I have asked my lectures , she said they both right to use but its better to use c4b2a. so even if u right it in the exam u shouldnt loose any mark :p
@RumanaT i ve got "veterinary immunology" 8th edition and it says C4bC2b is C3 convertase. it is published at 2009. its weird though because it should say C4bC2a..... i guess is one of the few details that scientists argue about.
But im sure that the correct one is C4bC2a.
My opinion, we better ask the teacher and write what they prefer. much safer
Wish this dude would teach me...

According to Cellular and Molecular Immunology 6th edition by Abul K. Abbas, Dr. Najeeb is correct by terming C4b2b as C3 convertase.
