If a higher court were to overturn that judge's decision in the future, DADT would immediately spring back to life, and anyone who came out during the injunction period would be in jeopardy since the higher court's ruling would state that DADT was never really illegal. It's confusing, I know!

Heterosexuals have always been allowed to openly serve in the military. That simply means that when appropriate, they can talk about their loved ones back home. They don't have to lie about it and hide the fact that they have a wife and kids at home.
Serving openly as a gay, simply means that gays no longer have to hide and lie about their own families back home. When someone asks a male gay soldier about his family, he can now answer honestly - " I don't have a wife, I have a husband".
Its a good sign when the government shows its willing to repeal one of its many nonsensical laws. You can't get fired for participating in homosexual conduct, rather one could get fired for rumors of what you do while off duty.
I don't want this to turn into a situation where a two homosexual soldiers are allowed to have a relationship or sex while on tour. This is not the case for any other nation, so I hope it is not for the US.

i hate u guys that say oh being gay is a distraction i did a tour in iraq 2009-2010 im in the infantry and i ran with my unit over 50 combat missions for the year i was thier and they all knew i was gay thier was no distraction when a motor almost hit me and my buddy i didnt think "oh yes that mortor looks like a big penis" no me and him where like "holy shit" as i ran to the 240B (machine gun) my buddy called in the direction of where the mortor came from and returned fire on possible spotters

Congress and the Executive make those decisions. God never blessed a homosexual union, but, rather, condemned them; He blessed heterosexual unions. Christianity is about leading people to Christ, by way of repentance from sin. I don't judge homos; God already does that.

Christianity is simple, love thy neighbor and don't judge others. But it's people like you that make a bad name for religion. Heterosexuals have always been allowed to openly serve in the military. That simply means that when appropriate, they can talk about their loved ones back home. They don't have to lie about it and hide the fact that they have a wife and kids at home.
Serving openly as a gay, simply means that gays no longer have to hide and lie about their own families back home. When someone asks a male gay soldier about his family, he can now answer honestly - " I don't have a wife, I have a husband".

Its a good sign when the government shows its willing to repeal one of its many nonsensical laws. You can't get fired for participating in homosexual conduct, rather one could get fired for rumors of what you do while off duty.
I don't want this to turn into a situation where a two homosexual soldiers are allowed to have a relationship or sex while on tour. This is not the case for any other nation, so I hope it is not for the US.
