@xxdbozconfidentialxx I think (don't quote me on this!) that it was Davis could fully evolve into Doomsday. Before this, he was able to control himself, at least to an extent. After getting released from the Fortress, he had a much harder time controlling the beast. Chloe was the only one who could talk him down after this.
He would have probably emerged before Kal-El was ready so instead of that lame scene in Doomsday it would have been exactly like in the comics although Kal would have lost.
In a way Legion bought time, not enough from Cosmic Boy's later appearance but that was almost as confusing as the Lana Lang, Power Girl arc...
