  • I used to have Ubuntu but wanted Xubuntu so i installed xfce i get all the Xubuntu stuff none of the boot up animations feels bad man.

  • Aww hhe cute! ^^, You have jut convinced me to load this onto an old win2000 system I picked up XD

  • woooww i love it!!!

  • Ahhh nice boot...the mice running is for default or you configure an splash screen???...How do you do it??

  • mine is much faster

  • Booting Xubuntu 9.10 on my Acer Aspire 5315 boots up in about 35 seconds.

  • beautiful. i loved it. nice bootup. i will try it over my puppy linux install on my PII 333 MHZ 128 RAM computer. that i use as a basic home server. for my files.

  • w0w u got realy powerful server

  • lol. it still works and i hate to throw away computers i had it for 13 years. and runs goood as a file server with a 2 terabyte external harddrive attached to it :)

  • 2 tb external hdd's ???

and the PII can hold that ???

what's the frequency of the RAM ???

  • its an old 333 mhz RAM :) yeah it can hold it. although the only slow down is the usb 1.1 not 2.0 i might buy a PCI for usb 2.0

  • i mighht have to make a video to show you :) the only thing that brought this this up from teh grave was linux. puppy linux. windows 98 was slow on it :S

  • no you doesn't need to make a video

    i believe you not even i have a better pc than you're P3 994 Mhz x2 256 MB ddr 133 mhz

266 mhz is the full power :(

but who knows maybe some day ill have some powerful pc

    tell me something

im using XP with years but like mostly users and i am disapointed from it

    what is your opinion

    whats better to install

    Kubuntu or Ubuntu ???

    both are 9.10 version's

  • KDE (kubuntu) is slower than Ubuntu (Gnome). and i personally dont like KDE. it used to be great but the 4.xx versions are a bit too buggy for me and slow. it look snice, but its slower than Gnome, and XFCE is really fast. want my honest advice? dont go with Ubuntu varients. go with linuxmint you can get it as w w w . l i n u x m i n t . c o m

  • and under community editions you will see their XFCE version. Linuxmint comes with Java/ Codecs/ Flash and everything preinstalled and its based off Ubuntu. so you can try their Main edition (Gnome) and their XFCE edition. and see what you like bette

  • since you only have 256 mbs of ram i would suggest either Gnome or XFCE window managers because KDE 4.xx would work best with 512 mbs of RAM.

  • Such beauty

  • check out my video of ubuntu booting and visit the website to make yours the same and youll be glad you did. then please post a new video with the new results. im very interested in how much of an improvment it would make to your setup.

  • u ain't need a user account ???

  • you cna set it to start automatically without login when you first install it.

  • it seem like xubuntu kicks ubuntus ass.

  • yeah, baby.
