This video is incredibly inaccurate, the ratchet he is using looks like its about to explode once he hops once, the best way is to use carabiners, seperate anchors and lockers (rappel rings). this is the best slackline.

what's a good length to buy? i want something that's not too short. but at the same time not so long that i have to spend forever tightening the line. I enjoy long walks on straight rails and like to balance. I figured slacklining would a fun and attainable venture into balancing. i cant afford cabling though that is ideal for me. Im checking the Gibbon site. Which do you prefer PROLINE or FLOWLINE?

tbh, the most damage that a tree will have, is slight scratching to the bark, maybe a couple of bits will come off.. lets be honest, that isn't really damaging the tree. graffiti does far more damage to trees than slacklines.

the bark on the slackline gives far more wear and tear there, worry about your slackline if anything.

I would have used another kind of slackline that damages the trees much more. There's no slackline without a nice big damage on a pair of trees.

You can also order online some kind of poison and mix it with water and feed the tree with that, it will suffer for sure.

very irresponsible of you! Show how to protect the tree. If all noodbs go out and buy your kit then set it up like you show, the park service is going to come down on all slack liners not just the noobs. Please remove and redoo the vid.

The other thing is NEVER use the comealong on the tree. It is best if you simply use separate anchors with carpeting to protect the trees, biners for attachment and for an improvised block and tackle.

Try watching clarkgrubb's vid if you're new to slacklining. If you set one up the way matolo does you will most likely hurt the trees you are using.

You need something like cardboard or carpeting to protect the tree. It is also better if you do not have to tighten the piece of webbing that's wrapped around the tree. Try attaching the ratchet to a second piece of webbing that is wrapped around the tree.

You did not protect the tree at all. When using a slackline one should keep in mind that it could damage the trees. The use of a piece of old carpeting or a rolled up towel reduces if not eliminates damage to the tree.
