2. how to practice flying in training mode?
3. How to complete a mission? I started this single player 1st mission under USSR (where you have to fly to finland and destroy land targets with 3 other wingman and 2 escort planes). After destroying the land targets, i return back to my base and land the plane and turn off the engine. But nothing happens after that. It does not say MISSION COMPLETED.
can someone help here? I just installed il2 sturmovic, I love it, but I have the next problem: the engine starts by pressing "i" , the engine starts, and as soon as I release the key the engine dies, any ideas?
@arvis97 as soon as I let go of the key the engine stops. I "solved" this by placing a heavy rubber ball on the key, but I´d rather it worked normally.
Nice dogfight . The turning point was when you killed 2 Bf in first pass . Otherwise you could be in trouble . La 7 is great it can outmanouver Bf easily just keep tight turning at high speed

Pacific Fighters can be merged with Forgotten Battles and the Ace Expansion Pack, but if you haven't got either or both it will probably be easier to just get 1946
A human pilot would have nailed you straight away, you did just about everything wrong. The La-7 in Il-2 is an uber plane you flew it like a noob plane.
advice: you did a fatal error by starting stalls right in front of him, his machine guns could have had your elevators sawed off...so in that case, get altitude, get speed and start a turn, put your engine in idle position and lower flaps to take off position, remember keep turning in very tight, he will overshoot and just as he is on your 9 or 3 o clock raise your flaps, turn on WEP if posible, put your engine on 110% and chase him, it must me really quick tough, however you'll get him ;)
@hpmasta thats good but this is what i do as the enemy is on my six trying to get his guns on me i fush down hard then up hard (when i pull up hard i push the left rudder) the plane stalls reduces the speed by a lot and you would to a 360 stall spin, he will over shoot and push down the stick and put full powner on engines ur guns should be pointing string at his tail then let the guns rip/ i prefer the p-40-p51 or the migs i do this with my joystics so easyer for me ;)
@shaheer09shaheer think about it from the bogey's POV. If you pitch down, the bogey can keep you on their lead line by pitching down as well. When you pitch up, rudder won't get you out of their guns plane, they'll get at least one shot. If they're good, they'll just follow you up, wait for the stall and fire again.
It's easy to draw lead and hit a plane when it flies in straight lines across your windshield. Try the ailerons and you'll fly curved lines instead. MUCH harder to hit.
@hpmasta before that, the main error was staying in the bogey's guns plane till it fired. asdf was very nearly toast at that point.
The bogey was close enough for defensive rolling scissors. Pitch up, roll left, look up, keep the bogey above the cockpit, and it's geometrically impossible for them to get a shot unless they can fly slower and force you far enough in front. IL-2 bots can't do that. It's easier with a console controller.
The stall was a stupid move, I woulda shot its wings off.
Is there any update or patch which could make that crosshair in the middle of that "glass plate"? Cause in some planes you can't even see that cause its on the middle of the screen and plate is in the right. Yes I know you didn't understand my question :)
after u think u have a correct config... play, play and play again !
i have only started to be a correct (far from good) pilot after months.... (i play seriously since something like 10or12months)
and i play in total realistic mode after being sure i hit minimum 1 or 2 target every time i start my fighter. (and if iam concentrated on my mission... if not: forget !)
it's far from an arcade simulator game so if u want results, u will must take times to...
first u must (absolutly !) create ur own configuration of commands plan.
adapted of ur joystik and based on the more logic and efficiant config u think u will use...(with taking the "space button" or a "big joystick button" to changing "zoom vew", me i take the space button on keyboard but all possibilitties existed and they are all good if u are efficant with...)
it could seems basic for help, but i promess, it's deffenatly the 1st thing to do
@SHuffleHardDieTryinG you have to go easy on the stick if you yank it you will stall and hit the ground you have to turn under the limit of your plane ( when it starts shaking that's the limit) and also look at your speed if you are going to slow don't try to do back flips, reversals or extremely tight turns keep your speed up. and as for getting shot down that's all about tactics and of course you have to look behind you often
i bought it installed it and right now i tried the first mission 20 times ... its like 5 min loading and then i get shoot or freakin stall after flying 2 minutes....WTF
and it push u to be attentive in all the mission, without knowing number of ennemies, where they will become and when...
i only play like that and when i'm hit and killed or captured, i retry at start !
it pushed u to be less ''kamikaze'' in missions...
my best record is 26 ground victory and 37air victory (confirmed - with 2 others not accounted then i'm sure i have hit alone...) in 3 followed campaigns...
is there anyone who play with very realistic game in the more realistic mode ?????
i play with this game since months and the best moments came after playing with all caracteristic of reality (select all game's options)...
of course, we must learn with external vew but be capable to follow the road without map check points, be capable to find the ennemy after loosing him many times in dogfight is also very enjoying !
no way are those 109s in ace mode, when they are they split up as soon as they see you in the initial approach and you get shot down. Plus when they open fire they never miss. You're right to use LA 7s though, they're the best tho' the hurri 2c's not bad, good guns and easy to control
I got this through fileplanet subscription, they gave me a ton of "hitpoints" so I got this and Thief 3 - Deadly Shadows. I just installed them both for the first time since 2005.
Is there mods, like hi-res packs to make the game look better, this game, not talkin bout Thief.
Man back when I got it, I had a crummy PC, but I just build a Quad SLI system, it's great, so I'd love to get the most out of this game. I LOVE dogfighting...
SERIOUS QUESTION: Is this better than the MS Combat FS games?
I haven't played CFS since the first one and that was years ago so I can't really say which one is better. There are mods for Il-2 that improve the graphics but I haven't looked into it much. Look around on the All Aircraft Arcade forums, they have a nice community and a lot of mods and stuff.
Holy crap! when you and that mseerschmitt went right and you went left the 109 hit you in the tail with the engine I was sure the 109's prop would of bended or the engine fall off it happend to me when I was in a 109 dofighting a my engine fell off and obviously I bailed out but you had no time to bail out because you were 80ft away from the ground and I was at 7000ft.

Going into a stall and spin right in front of his guns would normally kill you. Luckily the bots in this game are pretty bad, even in ace status

You've missed something,he's fighting against four Bf-109 G-2 1942 in a La-7 3xB-20 1944 model.He should try that against 4 G-6 or G-6/AS.

and in general, use more soviet planes...
after trying all, i deffenatly think they are more efficiant compared of german ones... (even i feel more "in" when i play like german, lol)

a 2nd help i can culd tell u is to start to piloting with the B-239.
i have learned with it and it's a good one to start ur carreer...
i think that's all here but if u really like IL2 go to a forum, it could more help u in details...
maybe just a last thing:
if u want to trained urself to shooting ennemies, use only planes who have minimum .50 caliber gun (between 12and13mm if u prefer) for armement...
all planes with 7,92mm or 8mm gums ( .30gun) are not enough powerfull to destroy.

ok,
1st: it's different if u have a plane with bombs or without.
if u have bombs, u need to use the "wings stores" (i don't know the good expression in english, sorry) in "leaving air field mode".
if u understand what i mean...
and if u have not bombs, use ALL the field before starting to go up.
or if u prefer, don't leave the ground before +/- 250km/h
with that, not problem to start ur mission.

so, if u want to have fun, try with max realism, i promess it's more intresting and more stressing when u give only one live to yourself...
and for best plane, for me it's
before 1943: LaGG3 m1941
before 1945: La5 FN
end of war: La7 B20
but in all the war, i defenatly prefer the LaGG3 m1941...
