No, you never have to use it. It's called a capo and it just makes it so I can play easier chords. If you don't have one, you can change the key by changing the chords instead.

man. people have an obsession with being jerks on the internet. youtube especially. people are just so incredibly rude on youtube. i'm not sure why. and if i were a psychologist i would make a study of it. maybe it's the anonymous factor? i dunno. but i think this was beautiful! Yeah - a mask of anonymity can empower people in really negative ways. They're convenient when people want to express fear or hatred (think: the Klan) and ironically, YouTube is both a mask and a mirror. So here's the questionis a hater's need to denigrate & hate amplified when they encounter someone doing the very thing they are unable to do: to be open?

A freak? LOL! All I was doing giving my own opinion. I just said that this cover was bad! Which is the truth! I absoloutley love this song, so if someone sings it badly I'm not just going to sit back and keep it to myself to be honest. LOL! No, I am not one of those singers. I won't post videos of myself singing, because I have no interest in what other people who I don't even know have to say to me to be honest. I'd rather have a real person come up to me after a gig and say that my voice was amazing or that my voice was awful. I've had the second one a few times before, and I just take it. After all, it's just how life is. You learn to deal with it.

You know, when I don't like someone's voice, I don't listen to it. I don't even have time to tell them that they're the worst ever because I don't want to hear it any longer. I don't particularly want to sing for people who hate my voice.
There are thousands of people out there who do like it, as there are probably thousands of people out there who do like the voices of the people I don't enjoy listening to. As a singer, I have respect for people who put their voices out there. You don't.

Somebody tells you that your cover of a song was bad because it didn't suit your voice, and you degenerate to, "It really pisses me off that there are people like you."
You aren't exactly running around telling your, as you so modestly pointed out, THOUSANDS of fans that they have no right to express an unasked (positive) opinion, are you?
YT comments can be disgusting, but this person left a reasonable bit of criticism, and you sunk almost immediately into personal attacks. An apology is due.

She totally had a right to say that. I'm not trying to take away her right to think that this was the worst cover she'd ever heard. I just really hate it that people think they can say things like that without hurting people and I wanted her to know what her words had done. I have a right to my opinions just as much as she does.
