I would put my money on any Midshipman, or Cadet football player over a Cam Newton or an RG3 type athlete in an overall physical fitness and endurance test at ANY TIME.

@trafvis: I would pay good money to see any of those so-called "superior athletes" from LSU or Michicagn State go through Seal training or even pass the monthly PRT required of all students at the Naval Academy. (Won't comment on West Point, being biased)

Didn't really appreciate Chet Gladchuk's comment about how the mids need to understand that there is something there that is bigger than themselves. They get it. They know there's a war going on. They've lost classmates, company-mates, and teammates. Those are the guys they're playing for. Was Teich wrong? Yes. But do they not get that there's something bigger? No way in hell. They get it and they live it.

My daughter is a 4th year Midshipman and will be an Ensign, serving on a warship by this time next year.

I find it highly offensive when various "commentators" belittle the service academy football teams as something less than a regular college team. If anything, these Academy team players (Navy and, oh, OK, even Army) are exceptional. There is no grade shaving or "basket weaving 101" type classes for them. As to physical fittness, no comparision. As to leadership and character, nuff said

@willlong1125 you shouldn't take it as offensive. When the various "commentators" judge service academy football, they base it on how they look on paper as D1 football players. Realistically service academy players aren't the five star athletes let's say, LSU would recruit. But they just don't know its the five star heart they possess.
