The world lost a great lady and a wonderful person. She was arguably the best Giselle I have ever seen, and her partnership with her beloved Vasiliev gave the ballets new life. She will be missed by those who knew her, by those who knew of her and by those who love the ballet, forever. Condolences and blesings to her family.

Ekatrina will live on in her clips FOREVER. Just compare the newbies to those old clips in black and white, and one will know how great she was. Thank You Ms.Maximova...
The Peace of God be with you and with your spirit, Ekaterina. From Buenos Aires, Republica Argentina our most sincere condolences to your husband, Vladimir and your mother.
If there was any ballerina after Maya Plisetskaya that could have claimed the "prima ballerina assoluta" title, Ekaterina Maximova was truly it.
Famous in many dancing roles, she was enormously beloved on both sides of the Iron Curtain, as she was a huge star on the Boishoi Ballet tours to the West during the 1960's to early 1980's. She will be dearly missed, to say the least. :-(
I was in shock when I heard that she had passed away. Rest in peace Ekaterina Sergeevna Maximova. I admired her so much and was lucky to see her dancing in person a couple of times and the pleasure to talk to her. Her feet work was the most impressive, the best that I have ever seen. She is among the greatest dancers of all time. Eternal repose to her soul & my condolences to her husband and mother.
Thank you for posting this. Farewell Katya you will be greatly missed and always remembered throughout the world. Sincere condolences to Mr Vasiliev and to Mrs Maximova.
