  • Their forum is so full of douchebags pretending to know everything. Everytime someone pops on saying that the pod doesn't sound good there's always someone saying 'you're not setting it right, you need to develop your skills on the machine, the learning curve'. Always the same sentences. When someone points out an hardware issue, the answer is always 'contact our customer service' and the thread gets locked. There's no freedom of speech over there.

  • @TheCitadelZombie wow that's really bad dude. What kind of flame?

  • @TheCitadelZombie that's simply unbeliavable. pure dictaturism.

  • @089Ray After all the issues I had with the M13 and HD I commented that I had old pedals from the early 80's that were still working and were obviously more reliable. Also, that I was sick of software, updates, bugs, etc and them not addressing the issues. SEVERAL MONTHS later "Rich" from Line 6 read my comments and completely blew a fuse over it. I've used their gear since the old AxSys amps were released. NO MORE!

  • @TheCitadelZombie They are threating loyal customers as garbage, I contributed alot to the petrucci fanbase with l6 patches, with xt, x3 and hd500 ones. I always shared everything I had and knew, including tricks, and the only time I tried to give a feedback about an issue I was having with my brand new pod they addressed me as a troll, pretending everyone to believe I was flaming for the purpose of givin' a negative mark on the l6 product line.

  • @TheCitadelZombie Actually, a few days after I posted here I was contacted by Rich at Line 6 who turns out is a really cool and decent guy. He completely made things right. Apparently he does read things like this and takes it seriously, sometimes its just really hard to convey things through the internet though. I learned a big lesson in being patient and not publicly dissing anyone. Still ended up returning my HD500 though. Just wasn't for me.

  • @TheCitadelZombie yea, but if everyone starts to follow the idea that pubblic dissing isn't the right way, every bad manner and wrong thing in this world will live on. If they allow only positive comments on their HD line, they are in fact fooling customers.

  • 3. and 9. are really true.

  • Totally agree, man! In fact the HD series does not deliver what they say. Trebly sounds, endless updates to fix bad tone quality... I downgrade to X3. 20 effects at same time (dual tone), no dsp limit, various amps, softer sound.

  • @alexromachado great choice alex! I've upgraded to elevenrack and i'll never go back

  • I have had my hd500 for over a year with zero problems.

  • Sorry u gave up on it, I love mine.

  • What are you using now instead?

  • @jbealsmusic Eleven rack with expansion pack

  • @089Ray What made you decide on that over a GSP1101+Control2 or similar?

  • @jbealsmusic gsp is way older and cheaper modelling tech. I wanted to look forward and the 11r is the best thing if you can't afford an axe fx

  • @089Ray Fair enough, but with the beta-firmware I would argue it rivals the 11r. Plus, now that Axe II is out you can find Axe-std for cheap on the used market. I tried an 11r and though it sounded great, it posed nothing but problems for me... Hope you don't have the issues I had!

  • @jbealsmusic which issues?

  • First off:

"I don't want to spend hours and hours eq-ing, boosting frequencies and removing fart"

That made me laugh XD... Because that's how i felt when dealing with this POS HD crap. I liked the pod x3 more than that thin/bassy sounding fartpie.

IMO the pod hd sounds better than the XT or X3 if u are a blues guy or a ACDC kinda guy, but for leadplayers this thing BLOWS.

    Second:

get an eleven rack or axe fx ;-)

I got an eleven rack yesterday and there is no need in EQing it like crazy!!

    IMO

  • @shreddingjoris I've already got an 11r since a few weeks and I can absolutely agree. No comparison can be made.

  • i see the pod hd more of a home practise thing than live. to play live simply buy a good head because the hd will never replace it. if you really want to play live with it well buy and axe fx for sure. pod hd can be a very useful thing to use at home and you get a tone there that any other digital amp you might buy to pratcise at home (vypyr, spider, etc) wouldnt be possible

  • @nunofrg agreed

  • @nunofrg well actually the vypyr and vypyr tube have a very convincing tone. compared to the hd, I mean.

  • yeah, i have some really decents tones with the x3, but one switch it´s dead, other two are dying and the universal problem with the usb drop still drives me crazy, they should make things more like heavy duty, for real, but at the end of the day it's just a modeler unit. the real things are way out of our budget. :C so lame...

  • @ChristianHeras agree. they are not reliable at all. hd500 is made of metal but isn't reliable still
