if the spill is right next to them i just hand them a bunch of napkins and let them clean it. i don't want them to feel uncomfortable with bending over next to them.
True waiters are a master of taking a psychological approach to customers? bit far fetched if you ask me.. they are not trained at all on any aspects of psychology.
I believe all a good waiter needs to be is honest, logical, put the customer first.. and treat them how they would like to be treated themsevles and above all else.. if they say they will do something... DO IT!.
Kinda obvious on one side. On the other - i was raised not to abuse other people and when i spill my drink i never want nobody to wipe it but myself. That's forgotten "customers good behaviour".
this is ridiculous, I don't want my server wiping up the mess that I made. Not only that, but how often does a spill occur when there are no plates or food on the table? That's a good five minutes of lifting plates and wiping up someones mess when you could be checking up on other customers. Help them clean it by bringing a load of napkins and get them a new drink right away.
SuperBladez don't even come here and talk about your McDonalds.
McDonalds waiters got NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING in common with the real waiters at REAL Restaurants.
The true waiters are masters at psychological approach towards their costumers, its crucial to be able to act correctly at every single situation you might encounter during the day.
Most of those situations are really tense, you got shitload of work to do, you're always in a hurry, yet you have to remain coldblooded and do your job
@Dentister Yeah I agree about having to know psychological approach, because there are small things that can really offend a customer- when they ask for the check &you bring it to them too quickly, they think they were a bother &you're glad to be rid of them. If you clear the table in a certain manner they'll think you're trying to tell them to leave
