@2smart4liberals: I totally agree!! I saw them live way back in October '87, not knowing whom they were, in Amsterdam's Paradiso. I was blown away. There are lots of New GNR forums who can not agree and I am bashed a lot there. Well, let them enjoy Axl and his own "GNR tribute band". I like Bumblefoot but no way that band can ever beat the old band. Appetite belongs to my fave rock albums forever. I saw Axl "going insane" so the speak. The videos speaks volumes to me. Thanks for the reply! :)

@SimuLord Unfortunately the MTV we all loved in the 80s had no business model and the network was hemorrhaging cash. They were forced to change their approach or get shut down. It's too bad, because I'm 100% in agreement with everything that you said.

@stromer24 Yes, bands at this time lip synched to their songs and Gnr was supposed to as well but they said F that, if we dont play live we dont play at all.

@kwombat37, I completely agree. It's just not the same digging up old clips on the internet. It feels like the music exists in a private vacuum that way. When it actually aired on TV, there was a sense of discovery and "immediacy" to it. The experience feels more "alive" when it's actually being broadcast on a major TV station for others to share at the same time.

No price too great to see the original lineup again.

@831bart
Totally agree, I mean, how many of us wouldn't pay more than 100dollars or euros or whatever to see the original line up live?

They should force every aspiring rock band to watch this video 1000 times, and tell 'em "now this is how its done, watch & understand".

This and anything live from AC/DC, who had a heavy influence on GNR.
