Last night at the NA meeting, we focused on step 6, which is becoming WILLING to have our defects of character removed. Step 7 is humbly asking God to remove these defects of character. They say to participate in step 6 with the mindset that there isn't a step 7...because for an addict, seeing step 6 and step 7 is too much. I know that I am afraid of giving up the familiar pain of my addictions (whether ED or drug). But I desire to be rid of them. I am NEARLY "willing" to live without them.
You are very passionate about what you're trying to do and I want to say thank you for taking your time to do this for people like me, who can use a little advice every day to stay on task. You're a productive, positive reaffirmation of what we're all trying to do - recover. Recover from whatever it is hindering us. This series was great - it would be awesome to see another one from you. Thank you again though!
I always loved that ED is a past participle... (painED, needED, livED, etc.) and to get rid of it, let ED be in the past, and be alive in the present (alive having no ED in it ;).
The addiction wants us to be alone. We are only as sick as our secrets. Airing out the laundry allows us to heal! :) WEEEEEEE!!
