  • Man, I wish this was HD.

  • 0:25 is the best

  • Behold, the anger of god!

  • You used a normal web-cam my friend? I mean can you do this on a normal digital camera? or can they only be used for stop-motion effects? Good video btw.

  • Hi,

Yes a normal web cam. Mainly because I could make a movie at 1 frame per second (3/4 of which were thrown out to speed it up). If you have a digital camera that can take a picture every 4 seconds then it'd be ideal for this sort of thing as you could play back at 25FPS and get a 100x speedup. Otherwise you can shoot at any framerate and speed it up with VirtualDub but a long video could create a huge file.

  • Wonderful job on the video, many people don't realise that the Sun is more than 1.38 million times the size of the Earth.

    God bless

  • To be honest, neither did I. I do know it's 93 million miles away though.

  • @RJL738 I do know that the sun is a mass of incandescent gas. A gigantic nuclear furnace. Where hydrogen is built into helium At a temperature of millions of degrees. ;)

  • Very nice.

  • cool

  • Awesome timelapse of a sunset, very calming :)

  • wow that was a good one! nice catch!

  • wow, well and truly amazing!!

  • nice video! I found this linked from your infra red camera page - was wondering if you tried taking any footage with the modified camera in total darkness? Cheers!

  • I've tried sunsets in IR but they just look like they're filmed in ordinary black & white.

  • ?no music?

  • Nice video, someonenicketmyname.

  • i like the lightshow

  • Should have left the camera on for a little longer... (Very nice animation anyway!)

  • Animation?!?!

  • No, just luck with the clouds and speeded up film.

  • what time did the sun set 8 or 9pm

  • I really don't remember. It was late summer so I'd guess about 8 to 9 PM would be right.

  • The camera ran for a lot longer but the auto iris started making it go bright then dark too much so I edited it there.

  • Aiee Chee WaWa Mama

    Nice One!

  • beautiful video. you were really lucky with the clouds. i love the timelapse stuff....

  • I want to try this, but have it run for months

  • For longer times I'd recommend taking the pictures as jpegs and using jpgvideo to make the AVI. Google can find the package. That was how I filmed my cress growing timelapse video.

  • OK, thanks

  • cool

  • Nice, I just posted one, you should add music

  • Nice!

  • How did you do that?

  • Normal webcam software filming at 1 frame / sec (as low as it goes) then speeded it up in VirtualDub. I got lucky with the clouds that night.

  • awesome

  • what? the sun sets and rises from the same place wer u live?
