  • This card uses wolfsen Sigma Delta dacs they are ok but not the best .7.1 is over rated more speakers to buy. 2ch done right can produce an amazing sound stage this card is better than most in the lowend price range

  • I'm thinking of buying this card. Will it be worth it combined with my Logitech X-230 speakers? Should I go with a cheaper card or more expensive speakers? Please let me know. Help is very much appreciated. :)

  • Rule #1 with creative buy another brand to begin with.Ive had a half dozen of there cards over the years there drivers have always sucked. and as soon as a new OS comes out or they release a newer card they start to slack on the drivers for the old card assuming the drivers that where out worked properly to begin with lol. moral of the story is never trust creative lol

  • Upgraded from an Auzentech Prelude X-Fi. The sound is definitely much more realistic. That's all.

  • jsut been watching your videos and im deciding between this and the "Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1' what do you think is the big diffs. part from the input/output! i play games/music...

  • this guys camera is awesome.

  • this one can easily be a better deal than the x-fi forte

who needs eax 5.0 these days anyways.

  • How is this better than inbuilt 7.1 HD Audio?

  • hell, I miss the time when you'd get a SB16 and that would be the end of it. lol!

  • i love the green capacitators

  • they should have gold plate the inner contact not the outside..they are just using it for cosmetics...

  • When talkin "Audio" in general, gold plating is always for cosmetics. It does not matter, unless oxidization becomes a real problem for you after 30 years of using the same sound card/headphones/speakers, which you probably wont be doing anyway.

The signal itself or the contact do not benefit from gold plating at all. It just sounds good and people are more likely to buy the product.

  • what type of slots does sound card uses? I don't know very much bout sound card

  • just a normal PCI-E X1 slot is okay

  • ASUS Xonar D2X - I have many sound cards, but this one kills it!

  • Whats the benefit in getting a sound card like this instead of a normal Creative sound card?

  • @Lvaneede first creative is not that good of a brand, and by getting a sound card like the one been reviewed, you get a better sound quality, also this one is 7.1, meaning that support full surround sound

  • ok then, I was under the impression that creative was the best. maybe I was wrong

  • Creative is shit compared to M-audio, ESI and many others that are also used by professionals. Auzentech only use creatives X-Fi for games. All the other components are better what Creative uses.

  • The DSP unit on this card is exactly the same as in Creative's cards. There is no difference. Auzentech, as far as I know, only rebrand Creative cards and add minor features, like the dedicated headphone amp in this one. As you heard, this does not support the latest EAX that Creative does, because Creative wants to sell its cards first.

For this plain reason, Creative cards are the best ones for gamers who want all the support, though I'm sure this one wont be troublesome anyway.

  • oh, ok then.

  • BraVUra! 0:20

  • 3dgameman should do a real sound card test. he should look at the HT OMEGA series. They are coming out with newer pci-e versions sometime this year I believe, because they were working on them last year.

HT OMEGA is the best sound card I've ever owned. I have the most expensive creative in my brothers computer, and the cheap mid range HT OMEGA, and the HT OMEGA blows it out of the water, and cost way less, and I've yet to get into the enthusiast HT OMEGA (which supports 600ohm headphones.)

  • @bastec666 indeed my friend, indeed

  • Do you when HT Omega will be releasing their PCI-E sound cards? I will be replacing my onboard sound with one of their sound cards.

  • im looking for a sound card because me onboard audio has been shit cos the 64 bit drivers are crap

  • i just took out my creative labs card..saying that the creative drivers are a nightmare is an understatement... by far the are worst 150 bucks i ever spent... cant say i would go back to them

  • Rule number one with Creative drivers: Never install all the software that comes with it. Only install the drivers and Audio control panel. Everything else is useless bloat that WILL go wrong.

  • i hope you will test a asus xonar card

  • Kickass !!!

  • why isnt the nut pre installed? seems silly

  • Your review room look like a small NASA control center...

    :P

  • love how he says BRAVUURA

  • EAX however is totally useless today because the EAX stuff has been worked into the OpenAL framework, but these effects are never used.

  • This card is a dream.

The drivers are so much better. and it sounds no different from my original xfi titanium.

  • I'm currently using a Optical digital connection, so a sound card would not offer any improvement, right?

  • @nilzxx Ah yeah it would it allows you to free up your processor a bit more, and gives you better sound quality.

  • hehe, analog :D

  • Good review! Might get a sound card soon idk yet.

  • Sweet, thanks for the review.

    KG

  • toss nut lol

  • rodney... sore throat? hope youre feeling okay

  • ye divers for crative should be rated for how many BSOD will u see before u install it

  • Nice vid, Pity the text is so hard to read. try making the drop shadow darker :)

  • Built-In audio FTW

  • lol, for me this is chinese(sound card stuff)

  • onboard sound suck

  • Enjoyed the in-depth nature of the review, was listening to some ambient music during the review and forgot it was my music. Excellent video, and excellent communication and attitude.

  • They're not "stickers", they're Case Badges....lol jk

  • Actually a case badge has thickness to it... when they're thin they are just stickers, even if they are made to stick on a case

  • Great review!

  • Don't really see a point of getting this card if u have a Xfi titanium. Unless you are having problems with the drivers of creative.

  • why dont you do any motherboards

  • because.

  • Have you changed your monitor setup Rodney?

  • i like the feature where you can put it in the pci-e slot

  • YOU'RE THE TOTAL NOOB BECAUSE PCI-E X4 DOESN'T FIT IN PCI-E x1 "DUMBASS"

  • L2Listen dickhole

  • Me? L2Shut up dickhead

  • 3:25 - 3:33

so what your saying is i can take a x4 (that is longer) and put it in a x1 slot (that is smaller) omg i never thought it was possible

why don't you kids read or listen o and name calling is silly and childish so come back when you mature

  • @Omellykim you can put this card in a pci-e-x16 slot, but it would be a waste of the slot xD

but you van even put videocards in pci-ex1/4 if it has an "open slot"

  • thank you for taking your time in replying :D i appreciate it

thats what i said in the op but every one is all like "ur a noob" and ect. just pisses me off when people don't finish the video before they post

  • Why don't you come back when you learn to use grammar properly.

  • omg its a grammar nazi if you don't mind gtfo

and why don't mind go be a troll some where else

  • I'm a grammar nazi? wtf?

  • google it

  • GRAMMER NAZI

  • It's spelt "grammar".

  • you strike again

  • i thought bob got killed by shoop da whoop

  • i didn't understand a thing............

  • 'blablablablablablablablabla (through one ear and out the other) this is a kickass product (o jolly good)'

  • I am liking the headphones port on this card.

I have a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty and it has "EAX 5.0 sound effects". Not sure what the main difference from 4 to 5 is.. anyone?

CMSS-3D is amazing with good headphones. I use a pair of "Sennheiser HD 595" and the positioning is incredible!! With COD4 I can hear every gunshot all around me, and anyone running up behind me to get a knife kill". Even sounds decent with 2 speakers but I prefer the headphones or 5.1 speakers.

  • Wow...

  • Umm if he says its good buy it? I understood the last 10 seconds of the video....

  • You know a product is good when he says kickass product.

  • Or when he gets paid to say it. :)

  • I love my ASUS Essence STX, but this card looks like a good mid-high range card at a great price.

  • Nice, I'd like to see more PCI-E x1 soundcards, compatible with x4/8/16.

R.I.P, PCI... we won't miss ya.

  • and of that i understood the last 10 seconds :) :D

  • Why? So you know what to plug where?

  • @edge160 then how are you supposed to know what to plug in where o_O

  • if they had led lights in the connectors (asus xonar cards) or they engraved the connectors with word descriptions then it would look more professional.

  • @edge160 does it really matter? we aren't going to be staring at the back of our soundcards all the time.

  • it uses plastic connectors instead of gold plated connectors. for $135 card, I expect gold plated connectors for better signal output.

  • @edge160

gold plugs is bullocks for data

zero is zero and one is one it is just data that the pc decodes.data is 1's and 0's

    for audio it's a different story !

this card is a upgraded sound blaster xfi

    great vid

    grtzz poerik

  • @edge160

The plastic doesn't do anything. What the hell are you talking about?

  • My card has labels on the back, the whole back is gold plated and I think the labels are laser engraved, ASUS knows how to make it not look cheap.

  • D3mak, thats because its just been uploaded -.- Give youtube time
