A couple of things: we are English and we are professional English teachers so we know what we're talking about. Plus there are many words which are pronounced differently: 'bath' 'scone' 'neither' are good examples, and 'often' too. Have a look in the dictionary - you'll see the word can be pronounced with or without the 't'.
lmao!! she pronounced the "t" in often and still wants to teach how to pronounce! learn before you teach (teach wrongly).
