don't sweat the distortion-this is the only song that is improved by total harmonic distortion (if I could afford to poke a hole in my eardrums to make it sound even more raggedy I would)
Sorry about the distortion. I shot that clip with my Kodak digital camera in movie mode. It was just overwhelmed by the sound system and there was no way for me to set the level on my camera.
Don't worry about that, as far as I know it's the ONLY video of Link available at his LAST concert. So IMHO, distortion or not, it's historic.
Sure would like to see that tape Guitarmanix mentioned. Met a guy who went to the Jacksonville show and he was told by Link's youngest son Oliver that the tour was being documented for a DVD release. I hope Olive gets around to it someday.
I was at this show. Nobody expected it to be the final one. Link's sound was wide open and distorted (of course), but not as distorted as this recording would have you believe. The whole show was filmed so there is a quality tape (somewhere). Rob played an opening set on guitar, then switched to bass, Link was the solo guitarist. He looked so frail and weak when they helped him up the stairs but when he put on the Strat and dimed the Marshall, he was in total control and absolutely fearless. RIP
Link was THE KING, he always will be. I was pretty sad when he died, he was the greatest guitarist that ever lived, that ever will be, and a humble man as well. He will live forever.
every rock band should open their live with this song

Apparently he didn't get royalties for most of his early stuff. He was his own manager.
