95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let classics die.
It was written as a children song not a drug song!
"This was the first Beatles song to create public rumors about a hidden drug culture subtext; supposedly the title referred to yellow Nembutol (Darvon) capsules, which, since they were depressants or "downers," were called "submarines." However, it's generally believed that the association came about after the release of the single.
@mentalcase13 this song has nothing to do with drugs. Although granted they were probably on them when Paul wrote it. But the story behind it was they were trying to write a silly song to appeal to children.
And Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was inspired from a drawing Julian (John's son) did. Aren't there any Beatle's fans out there who actually knows their history?
I really dont give a shit if this was dealing with drugs, drugs never changed the beatles that much did it? they still made great songs like this. so whats the point arguing about if the songs were about drugs or not, just listen to this fine art of music that will always stay with us.
its like if you see the music vid there is lots of colors and stuff it is like they are on acid it is hard to explain but thats all i can explain hope it helps
You obviously don't know your Beatle facts. Julian drew a picture of a girl in his class named Lucy, who also was in a sky surrounded by diamonds. You feel dumb. But they did smoke weed to the moron that thought the Beatles never did drugs.
@Grubovic beatles facts? and you dont think they did drugs? iv seen multiple interviews with john lennon and the whole group, stating they pretty much ran the whole thing from drugs, starting with their early days in liverpool, when they would take uppers to be able to play the long shows, to the late days in america before they broke up, when they were heavy in acid, heroin, and problems with cocaine. The beatles are the greatest band ever, and just like all of us, experienced with drugs.
How about you read my comment better you fucking moron, I'm pretty sure that I clearly stated that they did do drugs, so fuck off. I was telling the moron that the song isn't named after LSD, read my comment to be well-assured that is wasn't.
@mentalcase13 just because lucy in the sky with diamonds has LSD in it doesnt mean the did it, if you want to get all technical, its LITSWD, but thats beside the point, and to that other kid, yes they did the drug, paul was doing it with john for a while to get lyrics, but he felt like he could get lyrics better without it, as oppose to john, who used it all the time, which is why we got weird lyrics from him
@mentalcase13 wow... Lucy in the sky with Dimaonds was about (John I think) son finding a girl in his class that his son loved so he drew a picture about the girl (Lucy) and called it "Lucy in the sky with diamonds"
@mentalcase13 That's actually not true. John Lennon's son Julian brought home a drawing from nursery school with that name. It has nothing to do with drugs.
actually its about a girl paul mccartney when to primary school with called lucy. He drew a picture of her and called it lucy in the sky with diamonds when he was young.
=) Thanks for uploading this one Noah... But is it really about drugs? I've heard this since I was like two, but I never heard anything about drugs...

McCartney denies any connection"
Such rumors ought to be discarded for good
