Read the Communist Manifesto. Contrary to popular belief, the Communist Manifesto never outlined a form of communism. It merely stated certain problems in capitalism that are even expressed in the current day OWS protests.. I'm still an american though and yes I hate communism. :]

This was a poem written by Julia Ward Howe to replace "John Brown's body" and put to music during the Civil War. The poem was published in the Atlantic Monthly Jan. 1862.

Julia Ward Howe's minister suggested that she write words to the tune of John Brown's Body during the Civil War to inspire the Union Troops. She promptly wrote the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic, to desired effect. Sousa, by the way, was only six years old when the Civil War began.
