  • They STILL wear wigs?

  • Fucking english cunts

  • Really worst then this

  • Very Good Trailer! One Of The Best Film Ever!

  • I really wanted to strangle the English police during this film. Fucking bastards.

  • Made me feel sick how these innocent people were jailed,, so how many more people could be in jail and innocent...

  • ACAB=All Cops Are Bastards

  • How much minutes is the movie? 90min?

  • It was 1993 and it's still so fucking valid today!

  • when i saw that little note 'not to be shown the the defence' i raged so much

  • Those who come here and slate all British people over what happened - please sort out your prejudices and post an objective comment, rather than blatant Anglo phobic comments please. Most British people were incensed by the miscarriage of justice as everyone else was.

  • @DOPROSSER And yet the British in general have participated and elected government after government that has continuously mistreated and brutalized the Irish. I'm sorry to say the Gilford Four were just a few of many, many injustices against the Irish as a whole. This guy Inspector Dixon was never charged by the government for his injustice. If you have any sense of justice you would realize that many of the anti English talk is warranted.

  • @Flipper79able I wouldn't say it is warranted. I can understand how incensed many Republicans feel about their fellow countrymans treatment at the hands of authority figures - there were miscarriages of justice, many made possible by lack of police accountability at the time (this was true of all crimes, not just those related to the Troubles). I would hope we can agree those who willingly used weapons on BOTH sides are responsible for what happened, not innocent citizens in England and NI.

  • @DOPROSSER I am not saying innocent people should be punished and certainly not killed. But as a citizen of the World I think that every British citizen or American citizen or any citizen should take accountability for their government and asking themselves what have they done personally to help change injustices. I know enough about history to know most British citizens just watched casually as many Irish injustices happened. It's not hard to see why an organization like the I.R.A. exists.

  • @DOPROSSER I Agree

  • @Flipper79able THEY also done it to the SCOTS for 100 of yrs but we aint bombing innocent people Stop this Hate now or you will infect your Children with this hate & it will carry on SO Sick of your hate

  • @LVEMEDO Please, give me a break. The Scots historically suffered a fraction of the abuse the Irish endured......it's not even close....ask any historian. The Scots jumped into bed with England a long time ago and have barley seen ANY oppression sense William Wallace. Even when they were treated less than....they still stuck by England like an obedient little lap dog instead of an independent people who love their freedom.

  • @LVEMEDO P.S.- By the way. I saw on your page your a Beatle fan. Both John and Paul were supporters of Irish independence. John Lennon even supported the I.R.A.....don't believe me? Look it up.....and while your at it start educating yourself on the real abuse and human rights violations the Irish suffered.

  • @Flipper79able I dont give a darn if paul john supported the IRA I love the Beatles as a band & no you are very wrong about the Scottish Maybe we just fixed it out sooner than the Irish Get Educated War is about Showing up & facing the Enemy & how dare you bring Veterans Down that fought in all wars The IRA are cowards Why do they cover their faces Thats not WAR why did they go into shopping malls Pubs etc & Leave bombs to kill innocent victims But not stay to be bombed themselves

  • @LVEMEDO See, you don't know what your talking about. Maybe the Scottish just fixed it out sooner? The truth is in the movie "Braveheart" Some of that movie is based on fact. The Southern Scottish overwhelming got into bed with England because they were promised titles and money...selling out a lot of Highlanders and having London decide their fate from then on. Your IRA knowledge is typical bullshit..do some reading on the subject or watch some movies on Youtube to educate yourself. Peace.

  • @LVEMEDO Imagine English soldiers come over to your little town in the U.S. and start burning down villages and killing people. Imagine that all the jobs in your town were run and owned by the English and they wouldn't allow any American to work there except for the most menial jobs that may put your health or well being at risk. So you and other Americans protest and get shot at by English troops. Then you will get a small taste of what the Northern Irish Catholics went through. Peace.

  • @Flipper79able HATE only breeds Hate I thought northern island had a political stand on things now I fully understand your Frustation & I believe alot of it is True no in fact I know IT IS I am with anybody that wants to put down a goverment that bullies another country I am with you there as far as the English are concerned It just breaks my heart to think another generation Will be filled with Hate it,s not fair to do that

  • @LVEMEDO I agree that hate only breeds hate and we shouldn't fall victim to that but my only problem with what you said is that initially...it seemed that you were excusing the behavior on the British government in Ulster and not fully comprehending the situation. Violence is rarely the answer but you also have to understand that people can only be pushed so far until they fight back. I don't agree with the I.R.A. violence but I also understand why it exists.

  • @Flipper79able So do I agree with any anger when a goverment is Not doing what it should be doing & the English are good at that & No I would never Excuse them and I never want anybody to think I was excusing them I Am not

  • @Flipper79able Its not my little town I just happen to live here My town is Glasgow

  • @Flipper79able well said slan and thanks

also our so called Irish goverment stood

idly by and let it all happen

  • BRITS OUT!!!! FUCK THE HUNS

  • This looks good I am going to download and watch it.

  • no what was a good movie???borat... really opened my eyes, helped me see the world for what it really is

  • fuckin' brits. ive never been so pissed off by something going on in a movie

  • this trailers not great because its hard to find a line where DDL doesnt say fuck!

  • up the provos !!

  • This is the best film I've ever seen. It describes the wonderful life of nice people who spent 15 years in prison for something they didn't do. Well, at the first glance, this doesn't seem to be worthy making a film out of it because there are surely hundreds of people who are in prison innocently today but the speciality of the case of Gerry Conlon and Paul Hill was that they were in prison although people know it.

I always feel very touched when I hear about North Ireland. Wich you good luck.

  • great great film

  • in mexico i enojy this movie

    as real as my democracy

  • awesome acting , i was very very sorry for the old man , and the cops that fucked these people up were found NOT guilty !! FUCK THE BRITISH SCUM LEGAL SYSTEM

  • great movie!

    !

  • Incredible performances and one of the most moving films I've ever seen. I am disgusted at how they were treated.

  • Injustice extremely angers me as it does most who comment on here.

This film is a great example of real life events of british justice system injustice that still goes on today I'd surmise.

  • So.. in England when the government wrongfully accuses and imprisons any citizen or in this case "Irishmen" there is no counter lawsuit. Why weren't the pathetic wig heads, police monkeys charged with a diatribe of crimes and put in jail as well. It's a bastard system.

  • @damianfonseca I used to work for a company in England, where the boss was one of the investigating police officers from the Met. I didn't know this fact until one day somehow, I was talking to one of my colleague about the demonic, crooked legal system in England and how I hated those high ranking police officers. He turned to me and said: It is interesting, since you are working for one of them. I left the place not long after this conversation and told my boss what I thought about him...

  • Nothing beats the old trailers with that voice guy

  • One of the best movies ever made. I just watch it a couple of minutes ago...I lost count of how many times I have seen that movie.

  • fuck the UK

  • @Hemloch Fuck canada

  • @SuperAlbinoBob shut the fuck up you british fag british people like you suck at gaming and sports you always blame the innocent irish for everything that happens to your country and your army is a joke and the 5.0 dont carry guns

  • @Hemloch what is 5.0 ??

  • @SuperAlbinoBob police

  • @Hemloch think you find here in Northern Ireland Police is armed, however in a civilised state police shouldnt need to have weapons :D

  • @Hemloch You R Right, I was really shoced seeing the truth inside British Sytem. In fact, this is their treatment against their own local citizens. I watched movie today and really surprized to know the truth which was hidden behind the mask of fake English smiles.

  • @SuperAlbinoBob Movie is bassed on british system not Candian one.

  • as someone who has spent the last week with Paddy Hill and Gerry Conlon, I can say Gerry said this movie is 100% accurate. This is what happened to him, and it can happen to anyone. He told me that his only concern was who it was being done to today... lets all fight for social justice, we're all human and human rights are for all :)

  • @shyze11 It's great to know you spent time with them... if you happen to see them again, let them know that they're not alone.. we're rooting for them here in Chile!

  • in.honour.of.pete.postethwaite.the.world.has.lost.its.finnest.actor

  • In honour of the fine actor that Pete Postlethwaite was, I'm gonna watch this movie tonight and cry my heart out when Guiseppe dies...Deep respect and rest in peace Pete!

  • RIP Pete Postlethwaite, a fine actor.

  • This movie, and then "Braveheart", totally blew my view, and any miniscule support of England. Long live Ireland/N. Ireland, and Scottland.

  • @HUSKY57887 fella neither side is innocent - dont forget they were illegally imprisoned - but 5 people were murderd, 4 soldiers (2 were women) and a plasterer - nowhere near N.Ireland. Come on a bit of perspective.

  • @HUSKY57887 dont forget the welsh :)

  • this movie is amazing must watch if you dont like this film theres something wrong with you not the film

  • @chrisrfc001 It is a wonderful film, I can't believe it didn't win an Oscar. A true classic

  • @oogie11 dont say oh it should of won best picture cuz in 1993 the only ture movie to win best picture was Schindler's List

  • @Hemloch Well, I prefer In The Name of the Father to Schindler's List.

  • @Hemloch your right about that

  • @oogie11 Lewis should have won best actor instead of Hanks. Hanks is a great actor, but between these two performances Lewis should have won.

  • @HUSKY57887 Indeed, I agree...although I have never watched Philadelphia......even so, I think Daniel Day-Lewis's performance is immense :)

  • Such a good film.

  • my names guisepe conlon im an inocent man and so is my son!

  • Why does it seem that everything negative in the world is a product of the English government?

  • is the movie where all the inmates lighten papers and trow them down the prison? i think ive saw the movie

  • a must see,i lived in ireland and it is the quintessential irish story,!!

  • try viewing some mothers son , another great movie as is micheal colins

  • Daniel Day-Lewis's Best Performances:

    1.There Will Be Blood (2007)

    2.My Left Foot (1989)

    3.Gangs of New York (2002)

4.The Last of the Mohicans (1992)

5.In the Name of the Father (1993)

  • @cinemapsycho91 i get criticized for this often, but his performance in the crucible is in his top 3 performances. The movie was terrible but he was crazy and amazing.

  • @Dallasblows20 I never saw all of that movie, but from what I saw, yeah, he was pretty damn good.

  • Comment removed

  • Great soundtrack and amazing film. Reminds me of living in Derry as a child.

  • Hang on... Daniel Day-Lewis, Pete Postlethwaite, Emma Thompson AND Bob Dylan on the soundtrack? Why have I not seen this yet????

  • one of the best and most touching movies i've ever seen! fucking bastards!

  • certainly worth watching, without doubt!!!

  • Is this movie worth seeing? What do you guys and girls think?

  • @Ringo55753 Absolutely. As an Irishman I can tell you it's one of the best films on the north and a true story aswell.

  • @Ringo55753:

Yes, oh yes. It is one of the best films I have ever seen. Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing!

  • @Ringo55753 yes it is

  • @Ringo55753 You have to see it...it is one of the best films and one of my favourites...go and see it :)

  • @Ringo55753 I think the film is amazing. Well worth watching..over and over.

  • @Ringo55753 one of my top 3. nominated for oscar.

  • @Ringo55753 thought it was a bit long BUT excellent acting by a young Daniel Day-Lewis, the late great Pete Postlethwaite and Don Baker as IRA man Joe McAndrew (who actually carried out the Guildford Pub bombing)

strong indictment of so called "British Justice" back during "The Troubles".

I would say a definate "must see" for the acting and the history.

  • @Ringo55753 Well, Jim Sheridan is the director. And most importantly, Daniel Day-Lewis is in it.

  • we're gunna b watching this in religion. we're studing social justice. lol

  • De las mejores películas que he visto, Daniel, Emma y Peter están deslumbrantes

  • What is the name of the last song ?????! 1:30

  • this movie is so moving, so sad, and makes one so angry! Keep working keeping going IRELAND!!!!!!

  • justice always prevail...

  • Great Movie

  • This film looks amazing!

  • The greatest film of Freedom that I have ever seen...... also one of the saddest!!!

  • LOL @ the yank voice-over. They can make even an amazing film like this sound shit.

  • Do you know what makes me really sad?

No one learns from the past.

The British needed 20-30 years to learn that this way of brute force and torture doesn't lead to victory over terrorism and civil unrest.

Replace Northern Ireland with Iraq, IRA with Al Quaida and this torture with Guantanamo...

...and you will see that the US makes the same mistake the British did until they realized that the way of diplomacy is the only one leading to peace. :-(

  • Great movie about the injustice put upon the Irish,by the Britts.

  • Great movie, based on an (unfortunately) true story.

  • @94thts Loosely based on a true story, did they let them all out?????

  • We watch this film in our english lesson. It's such an amazing film *-* ^^

  • Outstanding movie up there with the best. Brings a tear to my eye every time i watch what these men went through, tiocfaidh ar la!!

Any time you want to meet me face to face just say the word. every Irish immigrant thats polluting my country if a fucking terrorist in my opinion. and always will be. we should have wiped the fucking lot of you out, The Irish are a waste of a country. your day will come??? fuck off, that will be a cold day in hell. • Tyhplas is clearly not with it. English government were a disgrace during that time.

They knew they were innocent and incredibly

Let it happen. How on earth they slept at night beggars belief. That family were not freedom fighters ya twat. Do some research.

  • Most irish support IRA????

  • @kondurperusix oh no, trust me

  • Cuban press supports IRA

  • fuck the english

  • this movie is rated an 8,0 on imdb , should be rated a 9,0 damn man this movie is good i fkng cried on the end

  • One of my favourite movies, though I really needed some time to watch the movie to the end, it really hurts in a way, so unfair.

  • @tyhplas sry to hear about your uncle, but, these innocent people were tortured and abducted simply because they were irish. so go fuck yourself.

  • They were guilty!! just needed some trickery to make sure they got what was comming to them. Fucking Irish scum.

  • @tyhplas no they werent guilty it says in the movie maybe you should look it up, and stop calling names
