  • Hi lijamez.

Im using ubuntu 9-10 and would like to know why my only options in display are only 640x400 and 800x600. ?

In windows i can set my resolution as high as 1280x720 and more but not in ubuntu. ?

How do i get my resoltuions higher on my laptop in ubuntu. ?

    Thanks.

  • @ukadmin You need to install your video card drivers. You can do this by going to System - Administration - Additional Drivers and selecting your ATI or Nvidia driver

  • Hello Chintendoeddman.

Cheers mate but that took a hell of a long time to reply.

I waited for that reply for almost a year lol.

    Thanks anyway ukadmin.

  • @ukadmin Sorry, I didn't come across this video until yesterday. Did it work?

  • Hello Chintendoeddman.

I managed to resolve this issue with a little research months ago but your comments were bang on the money also.

Since then ive stopped using ubuntu hence buying windows xp pro.

I only used it in a vertual machine anyway to see what it was like.

    Thanks again ukadmin.

  • why would you put ubuntu on a mac? thats stupid

  • I hooked up a hp external monitor to my laptop and everythin fine, but fucked up when i went changing settings etc, i did a System Restore and it fixed the prob' however, whenever i play video in WMP only the laptop screen shows the content, while on the ext' monitor, the WMP shows, except the video! HELP!

  • Dude, atleast your laptop can run it, mine can't... The laptop monitor displays nothing and my external monitor does the sameas yours after you close the wallpaper window.
