My hat's off to young Joseph O'Brien for the season he had in 2011. Having rode Roderic O'Connor to victory in the G1 Irish 2000 Guineas, Camelot to victory in the G1 Racing Post Trophy, and he rode a magnificent race on St Nicholas Abbey to win the G1 BC Turf. It's really unfortunate for this young man, and his father, that it appears he's going to quickly outgrow being able to stay an active flat jockey. Because this kid has real talent, IMO.
I'm not certain which horse or horses Aidan O'Brien will be thinking of running in the 2012 G1 English 2000 Guineas come May? But it would hard to picture him thinking of any other 3yr.old in his barn in Ireland as his #1 for the G1 Epsom Derby than Camelot? He made running this mile in the Racing Post Trophy look little more than a glorified workout. With Montjeu as his sire, and Kingmambo as his dam sire, Camelot should get the 12f in the Epsom Derby standing on his head. This colt's awesome!!
Nephrite will be a miler for next year? He's a Pivotal? Camelot for the Derby , but the forgotten horse of the Guineas is Power, get on E/W at 14's!!!!!!!
They have some tough competition though they are up against Born to Sea brother to Sea The Stars which was an amazing horse and Sweedish Sailor which recently beat Born to Sea and Noble Mission which is Frankels brother. Ooooo this will be a race to remember!
Joseph is a superb jockey and always comes through on the monster horses! I bet his dad is proud! This horse will be something big. A very talented horse and very fast. Joseph didnt move of the bridle, he gave Nephrite an amzing run aswell. O'Brien is a fabulous trainer and has got two dime horses here along with a great jockey! I cant wait to see Nephrite go up against Camelot at the Investec Derby, I think the winner will be Camelot with Nephrite following!
Am not sure how good Nephrite is does this pivitoal horse needs soft ground.I dont think he be better on good ground. Also i cant see him going for derby. And i think Imperial Monarch is the darkhorse in ballydoyle only a maiden winner but he be top class next year. But i agree that i think Camelot will win the derby i am on at 25/1
@henryfan9 I think Nephrite will have a big shot although Joseph was the jockey he wont be the jockey at the derby as he will be on Camelot! According to Racing Post they have both been entered into the Investec Derby. I think the race will be well planned by O'Brien. I can see Nephrite leading the race to set a high pace as Camelot copes with the high pace and will be cantering then when all the other horses are tired Joseph will time his run and lead at the final stages.
Nephrite is not even quoted by any bookmakers for the derby. so can't see him going there. They have Wrote,Imperial Monarch,Daddy Long Legs,David Livingston,Astrogly who can support Camelot at epsom.
Most busy betting shops have min 3 roulette machines that must take a min
of £ 1000 a day, there are apx 10,000 shops nationwide , that's 1/2 a million pounds a day profit for only 50 % of those shops, if Camelots ante post liabilities are £ 100,000, that would have been wiped out within 2 hours of the race finishing, get the picture
@sparkler8205 , I thought it was special too, but odds ought to reflect how far a race is, 8 months, and how many Pour Moi's may exist, bookies basically want win/win risk free existance, tossers
I don't think Camelot really beat a whole lot in this race? But he was very impressive with how he went about beating what he did face, IMO. As near as I could tell, it was all hands and heals from O'Brien on Camelot in this race. He seemed to get a mile very easy at Doncaster. Definitely looks the type that will benefit from the stretch out to middle distances next season. JMO.
Must admit. Didn't fancy the horse before the race, but it was impossible not to be impressed by that display. Will be interesting to see if anything can emerge to become a worthy challenger...
Derby winner 3/1 right now....steal

7/2 for the 2012 Derby, why don't the cartel of joke British bookies just suspend betting or go no offer, or grow some balls, women

I think it was bad bunch. And a slow pace

That was impressive. Either this horse is very good or the horses he beat are very ordinary.
