  • why do people argue bout chariot n jean and who's better? who cares josh left now we have 2 amazing bands instead of one.

  • I have been a NJ fan since Bless the Martyr and they are still as brutal as ever. Every new album shows progression and growth without sellling out to the latest trend. They have always been heavy without going 200 bpm and have always shown a dynamic range of musical and ambient texture

  • they used to be crazy and super hard. thing is, they grew up and aren't so pissed anymore. musical tastes change, folks. ACCEPT IT OR DIE

  • all the cash i'll get from selling my family $.$

  • Absolutly Loveeeee this song !

  • And who exactly the hell are you guys to say if they are christian or not? If you knew one obvious thing its not to judge....look at yourself before you start labeling.

  • Idk man.. This is okay.. But what happened to memphis..? Such a better sound..

  • I love this album, I'm tempted to say it's better than Bless The Martyr. And FTR, other The Anti-Mother was incredible if you appreciate music. It was better than Redeemer and Oh, God the Aftermath.

  • im glad this was just a single it wasn't heavy like the past norma jean still good

  • fukk all the haters. new norma jean is beast. seems like they are now more rythmitic. as opposed to they're older stuff which was more spazzy and technical. which was also awesome. but bands evolve and sometimes it takes a few albums for a band to find they're niche. and im lovin this new norma jean.

  • Are these guys christian or have they walked away from that. Not trying to start anything they just dont seem like a christian band anymore!

  • @jsh16 they themselves personally are chrisian, and as Tim from As I Lay Dying would say "if you are Christians in a band it should define who you are, change you and even mean you are a christian band. It should be the foundation and structure of your music." something like that, I paraphrased, but still Tim makes a good point.

  • @jsh16 Check out the article on them in the new HM magazine.

  • @jsh16 They are, read the lyrics of Bastadizer. So beautiful if you understand the imagery.

  • @jsh16 THey NEVER seemed christian to me. I don't think they are. They just played a tour with Rob Zombie, and his show was very demented and perverted, but then christians could always say theyre trying to spread gods love to the less fortunate. Whatever, theyre prob not christian, but some of their lyrics still kinda seem like it. They're probably jus I dunno? Normal people? Then again how many people LABEL themselves christian but then actually arent at all...

  • @FreshNapp they are still a christian band. who they have played with and will play with has nothing to do with it!

  • @jsh16 sadly they are not eny more. they were but they changed. :( they play with slipknot in concerts now... and lamb of god... @_@

  • @wiimaster200 dude. underoath played with bands like that. they are christian to the end, but who they play with has NOTHING to do with it.

  • @jsh16 if they are they sure dont act like it the cussed a lot at mayhem fest 2010

  • Norma is redefining alternative rock. They've become more revolutionary, and don't sound like every other band out there. Don't hate. Anti-mother was a sick album.

Fuck Scoggin. Bless the Martyr can't touch Redeemer.

  • @Thx4TheVenom648 "Norma is redefining alternative rock."

    Air-high-five, dude.

  • I'm sorry, but if you little scene kids had ANY idea how talented and skills Corey and the rest of the guys in this band are, you wouldn't be bitching about the Anti-Mother so much. Sure, they could just do the same Drop-D or C crutching with random screams, but they didn't. Hopefully some of you grow up and realize the sun doesn't rise and set in Josh Scogin's ass (which I'm sure he'd agree with). I like The Chariot, but Norma Jean are doing something JUST AS IMPORTANT--expanding rock music.

  • @Mendal187

    Finally, someone who understands.

I'm glad we have the few bands like this. The ones who do what they want and don't care what others think. Just to name a few: Norma Jean, The Chariot, Every Time I Die, Radiohead, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Between The Buried And Me. If we didn't I wouldn't have anything to laugh at.

Only thing is we have little scene kids that listen to it and incorporate other scene-shit-core bands with them like Asking Alexandria and Bring Me The Horizon.

  • @Selkies0bsession hahaha is Asking alexandria famous now? I remember ben and the other guys who i heard left like james murray when they were 'end of reason' in dubai, went to school with them two...fucking hell

  • @12ozshark

    Yeah, sad ain't it?

  • sounds just like anti mother...

"returning to their roots" my ass

If they really wanna be as good as they used to, they should try to convince scogin to come back (fat chance)

  • @cha1235 this was a demo, they pretty much threw this away, and redid it. new song title, new intro, middle and a completly different ending.... check the last link in the discription, i think that one talks about it, if not go to wikipedia and click on the Meridional album link then go through those links on the bottom.

  • @cha1235 i hope your joking. the lyrics were pretty awesome back when he was in the band yea. but listen to the fucking instruments man. as good as they were with josh, i think they've only gotten better with every single album released.

  • @cha1235 Actually, you're kind of wrong. If Norma Jean wants the old sound back, they should get Daniel Davison back as drummer. If you research about his years in Norma Jean, he says that he produced almost all of Norma Jean's music and videos and show bookings up until after "O God, The Aftermath". Either than that, Josh Scogin is beast vox. Currently, Daniel Davison is drumming for Underoath.

  • @DiabloSVV12 true!

  • @cha1235 You seriously, the new cleaner vocal Norma Jean is not that bad, they are actually having songs now that sound different as compared to Oh God where I had trouble telling songs apart and I still do and I have been listening to that since it's release. Real NJ fans will love all of thier and stop complaining bout the old stuff compared to the new, it's Norma Jean and you have no control over it.

  • @Disturbedone1954 Yea, he isn't bad, but they said they would try to sound more like they did in the beginning, which i guessed wouldn't work. Now that meridonial is out, I am disappointed, but I'm still ok with new NJ. It was their decision, and I respect that because those were the guys that gave me Bless OH God and Redeemer. No band should ever be held back by anyone, even there fans. Keep doing your thing NJ!

  • I love that everyone thinks Anti-Mother sucks. It was a GREAT album. Experimental and very against the grain for the genre. I suppose if you kids can't "dance" to it though it sucks.

  • @Padrino13 agreed tenfold. I loved anti mother and listen to it all the time.

    great album

  • @LeeReeves25 me too, i love the anti-mother it was a brilliant and mature album that had such a deep message behined it. unlike alot of music today that dosnt hold any significant value...norma jean holds purpose

  • GREAT Song!! I was so hoping the new album was gonna be all terribly watered down. at least they still have their sweet grungy sound

  • @xIAMDAVEx

    I mean WASN'T gonna be...

  • this song is clipping....shit production.

  • This song is decent. Not as good as the one on the Noisecreep promotional video for the album. It starts off great and really heavy. What I didn't like was all the singing there was way too much. Also the screams toward the end started getting noticeably weaker feeling more like The anti-mother which isn't a good thing. I hope the promotional video's song 'The Antherm of the Angry Brides' is more indicative of where they're heading.

  • @cjueeng new song dude, i just uploaded it, and you can download it, from Norma Jean.

    watch?v=uJj2rgZLMvk

  • ON ANOTHER NOTE....I'm not too much of a fan of their new stuff but this song sounds better to me than a lot of the tracks off of the last two mediocre releases. I know...I'm on bless the martyr/O' god the aftermath bandwagon. Sue me. =D

  • in their myspace they said that the album will be called Meridional, and will be out 13 July.

  • @darksystem yeah i saw that... have you googled Meridional? interesting meanings to that word, i want to see what it has to do with the songs/lyrics.

  • this band sucks

  • @dburns101 then y watch the vid or comment?

  • @dburns101 lets hear your band pussy...in fact...let's see you make a useful comment. I doubt either of those will happen...so never mind...don't waste our time or yours.

  • yeah this isnt sound nearly as heavy as o god the aftermath

  • and here is what I got for the pre chorus

"Tragedy of loss while this mess prevails

    Guess we'll kill more Presidents

    Need to face this fire

    All the cash we'll get

    From selling your family"

  • and for this:

?Destiny? Sacrcity of lustwhile this mess prevails. Guess we'll kill more Presidents. Need to face this fire. All the cash we'll get from sellin gout family. Where are you now? We've waited so long. now our hearts will never be the same. Our hearts will never be the same.

  • well there are some parts we had in common but I'm pretty sure he doesn't say "sellin gout family"

  • my bad that was a typo.

    *selling out family*

  • since I can't find the lyrics I decided to try to interpret them this is what I got for the first verse..... "It's your way, you get this trouble

Another day another ghost and we'll pay for it

Let's throw every knife on this table

Another day another year with you simple prediction"

  • here what i got in the verse:

It's your way, you cant be stumbled, another day another customer to pay for it. Let's throw every knife on this table. Another day andother year with you to shake the ground

  • wow! this shit grinds my mind! can't wait for the full release!

  • Loving the vocals.

  • AWESOME, can`t wait for the new album! This sounds heavier than the last one, love it

  • this a demo

  • wonderful, marvelous

  • is this album goin to be more heavier? like there older stuff?

  • @eyewatch117 man i hope so, but its not looking like it so far :(

  • How is it not? This song was pretty insane.

  • Its sounding like 30 seconds to mars. Cory lives in my home town of van buren arkansas and has been saying that theyre going to go back to their roots and make it heavier, similar to o god, the aftermath... But so far, just like the anti mother, there is more singing than actual screaming, which is fine to some, but its just not as heavy as anticipated. If you guys want to hear what cory has been up to on the side when hes not on tour, go listen to Fear is the driving force, his side project.

  • sweet dude thanks! been waiting for a studio version of this:)

  • can't wait for the new album!

  • Stoked for the new album
