As far as I know, Akasaka doesn't have a Dear You. The only reason people associate this "Dear You" with Akasaka is because of a short AMV of him whippin' a group of mercenary ass and saving Rika to this song was floating around on NicoNico and it became insanity popular.

I don't have access to the visual novels and I try to only watch the anime or read the manga, so in this case I only know about whats in the anime and some info off wiki. Off what I know though, Higurashi was more like an automated game-board where the witches simply created a scenario then gave one person a guide and the ability to repeat the scenario until changed. I don't think the place actually existed in the way it did. It was a spoon if you get the reference... Or if this made sense 2 u.

@Grdian i think your somewhat thinking of Umineko. Cuz higurashi doesn't involve any of the witches, other than bernkastel. And she hardly appears. Altho, in Umineko, it is slightly implied that the events of higurashi was Fredrica vs. Lambdadelta. But no, i think it did exist the way it did. Cuz, supposing the witches ARE involved, it still happened and all, just that Hanyuu, being a kami, was able to transfer to another world. But it did happen, i think.

Ok Dont read this if you havnt finished the series... This is anime is what I call a "witch's game" (from umineko) the only way to win is to force the opponet into absolute submission. Though there is no refrenece to this in this series hanyuu is kinda like the witch that controls time and keeps letting them repeat until they defeat the enemy witch which is the nurse (she has no powers not to mislead) So in general its just about how Rika is trying to win and save everyone (nxt comment)

Lambdadelta translates into "34" (In ancient greek) which is also the name of Miyo Takano in Higurashi. In the end of umineko you can clearly see the act jsut as tey do in higuarshi... except with the influence of un-imaginable powers and such.... nii-paa :P (Lady Berknstall even says that one time or two) Wikipedia this lol

@Scexer well they don't come back to life, they simply restart thanks to rika-san being the reincarnated oyashiro-sama, rika has to survive the trials of survival to continue living but her friends surcome to hinamizawa syndrome and once she dies she has to restart in a new world that starts usually a week before watanagashi (not always), the only way to live is for them to repay their sins that caused the curse and keiichi-kun is what rika-san calls 'the key to survival' since he gave her hope

I'm also reading the visual novel (you can buy the first arc for free on iTunes) and manga they helped explain a lot. Especiall the visual novel, it goes way more in depth to each arc then the anime.

higurashi no naku koro ni follows the main murder mystery bit, in higurashi no naku koro ni kai they reveal more information about WHY the things are happening

there's also a higurashi no naku koro ni rei which is a 6(i think) episode OVA(means it was released to dvd n such, not aired on television) which is just a short story of when things are finally "over"

Unless you mean the second season or third season, then no. However, the currently airing series, Umineko no naku koro ni, is by the same people, and there are some similarities.

You are probably thinking of Umineko no Naku Koro ni, which is by the same creator of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Yes they sound similar, but Higurashi is Cicadas and Umineko is Seagulls if I'm not mistaken.

Hm...Well there are only three seasons, first being of mainly question arcs, the second being mostly answer arcs, and the third being a bonus season that would have taken place somewhere in between season 1 and 2. I haven't heard of any other higurashi seasons/episodes other than that. I got my info from Wikipedia, maybe you should check there.

Rei (the third season) doesn't happen between seasons 1 and 2 - it happens after season 2. But the first and last episodes are parodies and not actually part of the storyline. Only the arc through episodes 2-4 (Dice Killing Chapter, I think...?) actually has anything to do with the rest of the anime (and it's still a little off because Hanyuu should be human).
