Well, Twitter is kinda pointless. However, many thing that are considered ''pointless'' are actually the most fun things in life.

And besides, when you have a decent amount of followers gathered by the pointless tweets, you can eventually use that to advertise something important (when needed).

So my conclusion would be: Twitter, pointless but fun. But can be a life saver when needed.
