Sorry, but I just know saw your "re-depoloyment" point. I assume you mean piggy-backing off the Gulf War UN Resoulutions from 1991? I studied this in law school very closely- and let's just say the vast majority of the international community- INCLUDING the Brits- felt that argument held no water- hence the return to the UN for the "serious consequences" Resolution in 2002.
We went to the UN to ralley support and allies, to make clear our intentions and to be diplomatic. How nations "felt" about it was not the deciding factor in our justification. This was in large part a big F YOU to the UN and nations within it that are supporters and enablers of such tyranny.
Finally, I do remember the no-fly zone and the countless transgressions of Saddam Huessein. I cannot agree that they justified the shedding of one ounce of American blood though. Where does it end? Where do we find troops to take down the other dictators throughout the world? How do we pay for it? While we're on this "noble crusade" won't far more powerful adversaries like China and Russia merely bide their time augmenting their economies and militaries? Time to put America first.
The fight for freedom, US interests, and mostly humanity will never end so long as there are tyrants like Saddam. Asking where our part "ends" is a deflection of why we have a part at all. Diplomacy should be tried, as it was with Saddam, before talking about "taking down" anyone.
Perhaps an argument could be made that a WMD armed Saddam was an imminent threat to the US justifying preventative use of force- but even if we give Bush the benefit of the doubt- once he knew there were no WMD's in Iraq and Saddam was gone- it was encumbent upon him to withdraw- NOT occupy, nation-build and preside over the deaths of countless thousands... non-of that was in the Congressional "Force Authorization".

Sluicer, weapons were not found. Congress voted to give Bush the authority to go to war. Bush decided to use it. Why were there "UN planes"? Were they going to shoot something? If another country invaded yours (Kuwait), you'd probably fire at them, too. If we declared war, Congress would have oversight.
Weapons that violated operational distance were found.UN planes were there to enforce the no fly zone and to monitor sanctions. The Gulf war (1990) never ended, Saddam was sent home and told to behave. Sanctions were only hurting his people while fattening pockets. Simply put, after 10 years of diplomacy there had to be proven substance to our talks.
Ron Paul and his internet warriors are helping the democrats and it is hard to respect someone who changes parties to be "electable". Many of his supporters are very young and may not understand the dangers of a "spoiler candidate".

RP also voted on HR4437 wich does not allow any new avenues for illegals to become legal (2005). Also in hr6061 grants authority for Homeland security to stop unlawful entry. The Paul campain is highlighting a perceived difference from Romney on a hot-button issue. Personally, I think it was a poor move given how many people outside Iowa who it turns off. On the other hand, Ron Paul and I agree that the Federal government has no business making laws on abortion. That I dont think *any* government should be dictating such things doesnt change the fact that he's the only candidate with a real record of standing up for liberty, small government and the constitution.

Kucinich is a very frightening politician. As recently as 20 years ago people would have rightly recognized that Kucinich isn't even a democrat, he's a Marxist. I'm not even being overly reactionary towards him, his ideas can be rightly classified as Marxist.
I lived in Cleveland when he was mayor. He really helped push Cleveland into the dumpster and it took many years to turn it around. But, it was not totally his doing. Bad situations, like Cleveland in the 70's, cannot be done by one person. But, he did help put it onto the fast track for destruction! He says some of the "right things", and I think he might actually understand some of what he says. I just don't think he has the fortitude or knowledge to lead a nation. But, he is a nice guy.

I respectfully disagree with Paul on banning abortion even at the state level, but he's still better than anybody else on preventing the coming war against Iran and defending most liberties, so he's got my strong support.

What does it mean to be American? Federal ID cards, tapped phone calls, searched library records, snooped e-mails? Being imprisoned without a lawyer or jury? An exploding deficit and "spreading democracy" through gunfire to all the nations who have enough oil? We're on a slow-but-sure road to a bankrupt police state. There never has been and will never be a better way to protect our rights and promote world peace than having the courage to live free.
Please don't think that Ron Paul would change his message according to who the audience is. These are his views-period. He does not wibble-wobble like the others. But, the whole context of his message, if it is ever allowed to be fully heard, would put to rest fears on either side of the argument.
this one issue is NOT the basis of his campaign. Constitutional Freedoms, limited Fed Govt, and State Rights are more to the heart of his message. He is unique in that he does NOT look to the Presidency to mandate and Executive Order his personal convictions into law that would blanket the WHOLE country. Choosing the Pro-Life issue as his main campaign flag is a mistake. He has shut down all the Pro-choice people that believed in his freedom message (such as myself).

Perhaps an argument could be made that a WMD armed Saddam was an imminent threat to the US justifying preventative use of force- but even if we give Bush the benefit of the doubt- once he knew there were no WMD's in Iraq and Saddam was gone- it was encumbent upon him to withdraw- NOT occupy, nation-build and preside over the deaths of countless thousands... non-of that was in the Congressional "Force Authorization".

Under international law, wars are justified in two situations only: (1) self-defense; or (2) with EXPRESS authority from the UN Security Council authorizing FORCE (not "serious consequences"). Meanwhile- the US Constitution requires a Declaration of War by Congress. Operation Iraqi Freedom doesn't meet any of those criteria.

UN Inspectors found illegal weapons and Saddam kicked them out, they vanished while we were playing politics with the UN.Saddam put a price on your Presidents head.Congress did vote for the war.Saddam shot more than 100 missles at UN planes. Sluicer, weapons were not found. Congress voted to give Bush the authority to go to war. Bush decided to use it. Why were there "UN planes"? Were they going to shoot something? If another country invaded yours (Kuwait), you'd probably fire at them, too. If we declared war, Congress would have oversight.

Weapons that violated operational distance were found.UN planes were there to enforce the no fly zone and to monitor sanctions. The Gulf war (1990) never ended, Saddam was sent home and told to behave. Sanctions were only hurting his people while fattening pockets. Simply put, after 10 years of diplomacy there had to be proven substance to our talks.

"Legalize segregation" doesn't make sense, that's like fighting "terrorism". You can't legalize (or fight) a tactic.
Ron Paul wants to legalize home-schooling, and end the Department of Education. That will not end public schools.
Ron Paul will not shut down or privatize the FAA, FDA, OSHA, or the USDA. I'm not sure about the EPA, however.

RP also voted on HR4437 wich does not allow any new avenues for illegals to become legal (2005). Also in hr6061 grants authority for Homeland security to stop unlawful entry. The Paul campain is highlighting a perceived difference from Romney on a hot-button issue. Personally, I think it was a poor move given how many people outside Iowa who it turns off. On the other hand, Ron Paul and I agree that the Federal government has no business making laws on abortion. That I dont think *any* government should be dictating such things doesnt change the fact that he's the only candidate with a real record of standing up for liberty, small government and the constitution.

Kucinich is a very frightening politician. As recently as 20 years ago people would have rightly recognized that Kucinich isn't even a democrat, he's a Marxist. I'm not even being overly reactionary towards him, his ideas can be rightly classified as Marxist.

I lived in Cleveland when he was mayor. He really helped push Cleveland into the dumpster and it took many years to turn it around. But, it was not totally his doing. Bad situations, like Cleveland in the 70's, cannot be done by one person. But, he did help put it onto the fast track for destruction! He says some of the "right things", and I think he might actually understand some of what he says. I just don't think he has the fortitude or knowledge to lead a nation. But, he is a nice guy.

I respectfully disagree with Paul on banning abortion even at the state level, but he's still better than anybody else on preventing the coming war against Iran and defending most liberties, so he's got my strong support.
People who won't support him because of a few stances they might disagree with him on are missing the bigger picture. Preventing expansion of this insane war should be the #1 issue on every American's mind.

Abortion is an important issue, but I think most of us will agree that if RP is not elected in 08 freedom of choice will be obsolete regardless of the issue... Freedom to choose what we say, how we act, where we go, etc... Giggles is right... one issue voting is dangerous!

I did vote for his video on MSNBC! and now votes for his video have been switched to Obama! How could this happen? Now it shows Obama's video is the one with more than 3,200 votes! Is this only me? What happened????? I didn't vote for Obama and now that I re-check it, It says that I did! The one that I voted on now has only 245 votes, that's impossible!! They must've switched it! They'll do the same when we vote in the primaries!

An exploding deficit and "spreading democracy" through gunfire to all the nations who have enough oil? We're on a slow-but-sure road to a bankrupt police state. Please don't think that Ron Paul would change his message according to who the audience is. These are his views-period. He does not wibble-wobble like the others. But, the whole context of his message, if it is ever allowed to be fully heard, would put to rest fears on either side of the argument.

this one issue is NOT the basis of his campaign. Constitutional Freedoms, limited Fed Govt, and State Rights are more to the heart of his message. He is unique in that he does NOT look to the Presidency to mandate and Executive Order his personal convictions into law that would blanket the WHOLE country. This may be hard for many people to understand since it is different from the rest of the candidates. No Bully Pulpit here! Look at his whole philosophy!!

Having being really enthusiastic about his stand on the constitution, I now think Ron Paul would be a bad president.
This ad is one example, the other, is his view of the fact that global warming is an exaggeration.
He has lost my support and will continue to loose the few supporters he has gained if he insists in making emphasis in issues that are so controversial.
I will now take bets that he is never going to get more than 2% votes.

Choosing the Pro-Life issue as his main campaign flag is a mistake. He has shut down all the Pro-choice people that believed in his freedom message (such as myself).
I thought Ron Paul was about respect for the constitution, and for individual rights. Not to take sides in an argument that polarizes society so much.
No way this guy is ever going to get more than 2% of votes if this is the basis of his campaign.

Take the time to Research his stand on this issue. Like Ron Paul I'm also Pro Life; but, also beleive that it is NOT the role of the Fed. Gov. to make this decision. He has said hundreds of time that it is up to the State and the Individual to do this. His,Yours,My Morals: they are part of "Our Personal Liberties" that he will protect even if they clash with his. Please do your research and support the only "Patriot" running. Ron Paul 2008.
