The King was the most underappreciated artist of his or any era since. But also, sadly, the most mismanaged. Think about the time wasted making all those mostly horrid movies...Add that to the amount of music that the public never got a glimpse of...the Jungle Room Sessions for one. Over 400 songs released publicly and probably half that many sittin in boxes that we may never get to hear. Alas....still the greatest entertainer ever!
Whats really gets to me is that songs like this & so many others from the '70's should have done SO MUCH BETTER! There's so much the world isn't even aware of concerning his musical work. I don't even know who to really blame! In the end, MANAGEMENT should be to blame. Elvis did his job & incredible songs like this one HAD TO HAVE DONE BETTER if marketed better. I just don't get it.
very few people are timeless yet ahead of their time - Michaelangelo, Thomas Jefferson, Elvis Presley - those come to mind. I met Lisa Marie two days ago in west Tennessee. She is gorgeous and a class act. Her father would be proud :)
@KillaRock77 Thanks man! If you want to hear more of my "new" Elvis songs you'll have to click on my username for my uploaded videos (I don't want to attach any more here) I wish he were still around making music too!
This song, like many of Elvis' songs, was ahead of it's time. That's the reason we've seen so many rereleases and remixes through the years. There was no digital recording equipment, no accusonic recording process when he recorded, just great musicianship and great vocals by Elvis. I would love to see what Elvis would've done had he lived. I know he would still be on the charts, doing concerts, music videos and maybe movies to.
This version is so much better than the original, which was no slouch to begin with. Should have been a way bigger hit for Elvis when it was released; I guess people were too busy listening to the Osmonds or some other crap.
He came from a shack, live around black people, liked their music, incorporated it with his great talent, he turned into a symbol of America, sold loads of records, & performed live all without any help from technology or special effects...How grand is that...
Elvis is not a king of music! Elvis didn't like those titles or being called king! Just appreaciate him for what he is and was without any titles! This was the true and real Elvis! Elvis didnt like being called a king! Christ is the only true King of all!
what has Elvis`s male chicken got to do with anything ? I didnt even know Elvis kept his own chickens ? Maybe when he was young the family kept their own poultry becuase they were poor but surely he didnt have them in Gracelands ?
In a massive leap of faith, i pray thelordoftheegg is female, 'cause, though Elvis may have left the building, I am willing to sacrafice myself to your uninhibitedly generous conciderations. you know, a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush,,,,,,,,,,,,call me/
Yes much better sound mix than the original. Many of the 70's songs and albums to me need a major sound re-mix. Many sound tinny, no bass, horn section lost at times......let's see what give down the road.
Exactly! I like alot of his songs from the 70's better than the earlier ones. Don't get me wrong, he definately has great songs from all years of his life, but I just thing the 70's songs have a better sound, more emotion.
Hi there! Yes that is :) According to Bob Willoughby, the photographer who snapped these candids, Sophia spotted 23-yr-old Presley eating lunch in the Paramount commissary and decided to go over and introduce herself. Which is to say, she promptly sat in his lap, gave him a kiss, & began mussing his carefully sculpted pompadour. He didnt mind.
@ElvisZone for his defense, Elvis' manager (Tom Parker) was the one making alot of his decisions, so most of that blame goes to the manager. I think Elvis should have gotten rid of him mid point in his movie career so he could have more freedom.
@ElvisZone he didn't make thay many wrong career moves. He had millions of fans and was filthy rich. By the fame standards he did it (and he did say ((and sing)) he did it his way
Elvis may be the most famous entertainer to ever live, but he made a ton of bad choices. He was in 30 films he didn't like, he also sold his artist royalties for 2 mil, a horrendous financial mistake. Eventually you realize money doesn't mean a whole lot, and Elvis was not happy with his career. He was the greatest though.
A very nice remix version of my all-time favorite Elvis song ! I love this song the most of ANY Elvis song . Too bad he didn't do it live in concert !
Elvis, I believe, cut Its Only Love at a recording session at Nashville in 1971. It was not a very large hit for him when released at that time, but was rereleased in 1981 and charted higher.
This song is a classic! There is not another soul on this planet who could duplicate that unique voice. My only regret is that I never got to hear him sing in person.
You want to make a bet. I sound just like him exactly. come to my channel and listen to my video "Love Song Of The Year". There are two voices singing one is mine. Tell me what you think.
That's a #1 hit in a just world! Great sound...very clear...just like the 45rpm! It was written by the same guy that penned "SUSPICIOUS MINDS" and "MOODY BLUE", Mark James.
I've always loved it, it's just a shame it's hard to come by on most compilation cd's, for those not so "hardcore" Elvis fans to discover this would be a real joy.
Brilliant pictures and a fantastic song. 1971 showed Elvis with an amazing voice. It made number 3 in the UK in 1980. The king. Thank you for the clips.
Was enjoying the video's of him and Ann, had to ruin it with the vain Priscilla though. If it werent for the promise that he made to Priscilla's father about marrying her he might have married Ann hopefully, but since Priscilla's family pretty much blackmailed Elvis into marrying her I guess he had a different ending most likely we will never know but because the Colonel was so scared of the fallout in case it was make public about Priscilla Elvis didnt have a choice and had to give in.
the greatest artist ever to put his footprints on this planet, i have adorned his music for many years and still will, you have done a cracking good job with the picture shots.
Good job done but spoilt by images of Priscilla. She is the Bitch to end all Bitches. I mean she had it all ....... she knew what goes on espcially on the road........she should have learned from Tom Jones Wife......KEEP your Legs open and your Mouth shut !
ELVIS AND ANN WERE IN LOVE 100% and i HATE tom parker and pricillas family from stoppign their love from happening. i bet u elvis would still be alive it he married ann.
What i'd like to know is how the fuck AristYdes got linked to this video?:)Is it possible that elvis is actually his grandpa?Cause after all...elvis lives....and he was a playa afterall:)Great vid btw ElvisZone.
His vocals in this song are awesome. Other vocalists may hit the notes but NOBODY can add the color and desperation like Elvis could. This is a tough song to sing, you don't hear many Elvis Impersonators trying this one for sure! Great presentation !
