  • It's a wery good exercise, we use it allot in our team building programs.

  • Simple team building ideas can work but the facilitation has to be really good and meaningful. Tom's a good speaker, enjoyed this.

  • So awesome... definitely on my to do list

  • We got 24.5 inches

  • nice video! thanks for uploading

  • i had to do this in class and my group's tower was 2 inches!!! :D

  • Good ideas are not adopted automatically.

  • a team in my class today got 53 (grade 8)

  • 21.5 inches on my first try. Coulda went higher but we didn't use all of the spaghetti sticks

  • I did this today!

  • my group got 34.5 inches in class today OWNAGE!

  • nice [watch]

  • we did this today in school it was soo fun, our group won with 56cm but the funny thing was is that none of the people in the group were friends... in fact we didnt get allong at all outside of the group! were in yr 8 :)

  • im doin this at collage tommoro lol

  • I did this at my school yesterday.

    My group won :)

  • oh-oh....

  • wow

  • yeaaaahhhh go engineers!

  • anyone knows whats the font he used for his cover/sub cover slides?(the really big ones)

  • i did this in my class

  • OMG! Did this today and or class failed. We didn't talk. all we did was try try try again. we had to stop and put it on then build at the base. It was fun and are group didn't win but we had a great time. :)

  • yea hahah....we were asked to do the same in our cultural training program....

n I must he is right..we engineers did it well...

  • Akon Rocks ** ** moviescreenplay . info **

  • Why do I care Kevin Pereira? Why do I care?

  • oh wow...i did this!! really fun!!

  • b-school students SMH (I am a b-school grad)

  • I'm forwarding this to all my friends.

  • He pronounces "process" wrong.

  • @EvilerBanana pronunciation varies between dialects and idiolects. Prescriptive grammar is aloof from the real world. Descriptive grammar is much more interesting, in my opinion. Besides, English doesn't have an academy the same way French does.

  • we did that once with sheets of paper, some tape and a pair of scissors... was fun.

  • Civil liberties are the marshmallow.

  • Now is anyone surprised that business grads did the worst?

    ......

  • theres no lessons in this purely anecdotal 'challenge' of his : its a load of crap.

  • would be more interesting if his website was any good :(

  • when economy is destroyed there is no quality design anymore

  • one of the best talks so far!

  • I've worked several places where idiotic teamwork exercises were forced upon the employees. It didn't deal with any ACTUAL work problems which made the exercises worthless. Hopefully, in time this teambuilding craze will die down and employers will refocus on the actual, real-life issues and problems facing employees on a daily basis and not think things can be solved by BS workshops.

  • funny, i bought a book from him few years ago. now i know who he is :)

  • as a TEDtalks addict, i have seen over 95% of all talks uploaded to youtube - and this is the only talk so far i had a smile across my face for the whole talk.

im sad i know too much now about this test to actually do it and see how good i get, but as an engineering undergraduate student i think ill do pretty good.

Loved it, 5 stars if i could, "like" is underastimating this talk

  • his face lights up when he talks about the 39 inch structure, if you catch my drift.

  • @doedicurus LMAO funniest comment I've read all month, hands down! XD

  • a job? no thank you. got better things to do in life

  • @dAda313 how do you fund your life? I have been interested in just living in nature and I wanted to know how you do it. : )

  • Yeah, this research seems to back that psychology concept about social facilitation.

  • I remember my gr.11 english teacher gave us this challenge... my group bickered and fought over stupid design concepts and I just sat there quietly. Eventually the pretty girl in the group asked "hey josh... what do You think we should do?" and everyone shut-up. My reply was to build a pyramid using 4 marshmallows and then continue to evolve the pyramid shape until we ran out. Everyone was taken aback by this but we did it and modified it as we went along and we beat everyone else. True story.

  • @classicalheartburn Hmm, that brings to mind the old adage, "Behind every great man is a great woman". Perhaps, all along, it was referring to the fact that smart men get ignored by the mainstream public when pretty women aren't around to ask them for their thoughts (in the meantime, the dumbest are heard simply because they're the loudest). Maybe if I got married, I'd have more subscribers... Damn, back to the drawing board for another project I don't have time for :)

  • Very interesting presentation. I saw "Autodesk" and of course I assumed this would be related to the many 3D software packages they develop, but I was pleasantly surprised.

  • @mayhem8808 Yah, he does have that certain posture and tone doesn't he. A good idea is a good idea no matter who it comes from though.

  • @mayhem8808

Yeah you're right, he lets the lisp slip a few times and he has perfectly fitted clothing.

  • fantastic

  • wow... I did not know that feedback is this important.

  • this was a pleasant speech to listen to

  • I love how he mentioned falure is so important. That's why I hate when people within the government try to keep failures afloat at the expense of us all.

  • ta-da

  • Was I the only one running spaghetti structure designs through my head whilst watching the video?

  • @shorty962 yes

  • @shorty962 Nope, I had a hard time listening, too much spaghetti things going on in my mind's eye. Pretty fun though, right?

  • Design is a contact sport. Prototypes are an essential part of design.

  • I wonder how a team of airline pilots would perform?

  • We did that as part of our inauguration!

  • Well i'm certainly glad to see architects&engineers at the top :)

  • yo engineers!!

  • tada!

  • I enjoyed that one, he is a good speaker

  • @ChalleFoV3 Congratulations ... you win the dumbass award

  • @BrewmasterFuzzball You make sad. stop making sad.

  • @ChalleFoV3 You two should build a marshmallow tower together.

  • @VitriolicAC and shove it up your ass.

  • Did this back when I went to high school.
