i think some of you are comparing a stock bandit to something that might not be stock..we all know a huge thing here is the sprockets..u can get alot more outta the hole speed by changing sprockets..but will change your top end speed..beginner shit there boys..!!! i have rode a bandit..they are pretty quick..BUT I WILL EAT YOUR LUNCH ON MY R1..
I don't know what all the talk is aobut the bandit not being fast. I know I'm talking about a bike with 1/2 the cc's, but it has close to the same hp as my Bandit and it is the sport class............I will run dead even with my buddy's 2006 GSXR600 and that's with me being 260#s, he is probably 180#s and with the additional weight that the Bandit has compared to the GSXR.
its not fake.1200 bandit is and always has been a quick bike.not by sport bikes of today standard maybe but it a fast bike end of story..ride one before you say anything.the 1250 bandit is a different bike,does not sound the same or feel the same..prefare the 1250 myself but its not as mad as the 1200.
they're great bikes. you're always in the torque or power band and can cruise around town in fifth gear like a walk in the park. i've seen them with over 40,000 original miles on the odo and still goining strong. there are faster bikes than the 1200 bandit, but it sounds awesome, runs forever, you don't need a phd to work on it and it really is a pleasure to ride.
@pgzzz Since bandit 1200 have totaly different engine than 1250. New bandit have more torque so it could have less rmp's New bandit have water cooled engine with ceramical technology. Old one have big, hevy, oil and air cooled engine:)
@pgzzz since allways... i ve a 2003 and 11000 revs is possible. Pointless, because above 8000 revs the power and torque are going down, the 1200 S does very well with an opnen BOS exhaust and is very powerfull between 5000 and 8000 revs. Unlike other sports tour bikes that needs more revs.
@phsouzabr I have led turn lights and I didn't changed the blinker or relay (i don't know what is the right word to this in english but in polish it's called przekaźnik" If you have bandit try to accelerate like this it's not a big philosophy(only 0-100). If you have oryginal exhaust, acceleration will be worse then my. Bandit in oryginal exhaust have about 100hp on dyno. But if you change this for specialy dedicated you can give him even 20hp more!
nice :) with a good start , you can 0-200 under the 10 sec , i have a bandit with gsxr1100 engine...with K&N filters and dynojet , laser hotcam muffler+ home made linkpipe..butt i don't know how much hp , butt i tested next year. Butt a nice vid :D
