  • Vocals are by Rusty Day, not Jim McCarty

  • Could you please change you're description of the vid and tune ? Jimmy wishes he could sing that good. The vocalist is Rusty Day from Detroit who also sang with the Amboy Dukes.

  • @ZenDogRadio You got it :)

  • Rusty Day sang the shit outta this!!!

  • No better sound then a needle to vinyl

  • Didn't Stevie Wonder cover this song too?

  • I didn't know Cactus released "Evil" as a single. I have a price guide for American records 1950-75 & I don't recall seeing "Evil" as one of Cactus's 45 singles. This has to be an import...right?

  • @bucky468 It a was pressed in the US and is a promo/DJ copy. I checked my Osborne Rock & Roll 45s price guild (4th ed.) and it's not listed there either! "Bringing Me Down" is listed as another promo. Maybe this copy of "Evil" is more rare than I thought. I do a little more research on it :)

  • Nice!!!

  • heavy rock indeed

  • Rusty Day was the man.

  • Tim Bogart & Carmine Appice didn't head shit. Ever heard of Jim McCarty or Rusty Day? Come on!!!!!

  • gotta get this album.

  • Oh my gosh this is like the definition of rock =O

  • Why would you drop a 45 while the machine is in motion. That is dangerous!

  • I had their restrictions album in 71. At the time i never heard of them but just bought it because at that time i would takes chances haha

  • I like your turntable, KlH's were great players!!!

  • @fourty5mag Thanks! This is the model 11 also have the Model 20 plus KLH :)

  • @PCino45s2

I had the Model 11 back in the seventies...my friend used to make fun of me, you know get real equipment. Such an Elitist...

  • @toez2001 LOL! well, just tell your friends to go on eBay and bid on one of these! They won't be making fun of you anymore ;)

  • Brings back some irreplaceable memories. What a great cover tune, One in a million

  • Tim Bogerts jammin on that bass! - Tearin it up!

  • Insane tone on the guitar solo! Dudes be trying these days to squeeze that same action out of Oranges.

  • What ever happened to the album artwork with the headless suits in the clouds? Cool cover and great guitar work by the German dude.

  • @hartistry1957 german dude? thats mccarty, from D troit

  • Great cover. Agree with the others- nice stereo sound. Thanks for the effort. Carmine Appiece (sp?) is one of my biggest influences (as a drummer)

  • Dig the sound of a great song on vinyl. Mmh... groovy, man... haha. Why doesn't Cactus ever get the credit they deserve?

  • GREAT QUALITY! Thanks so much for the upload!

  • Fucking finally, thanks for the upload mate!

  • luv it .. had the album

  • Jim McCarty was the guitar player, the singer Rusty Day.. Tim only played bass.. This was supposed to be a Jeff Beck Project that was put on hold because of Becks accident.. Post Vanilla Fudge.. Cool band that never got too far.. The guitar player is killer and came from the Detroit Wheels.. Day came from the Amboy Dukes (Ted Nugent)... Great post.. Jake E. Lee does a great version of this version as well on his CD "RETRACED".. Check it out.. Shrapnel Records release.

  • I know that's Tim Bogert on bass and vocals, and Carmine on drums, but who played the guitars in Cactus? Love, Billy

  • @BillyMacQ

awsome post...nice clean copy...and for those of that still have hearing thats great..jim mcarty on guitars....one of the most overlooked players of the 70 s.....

  • rawer and fuzzier than a kiwi still on the vine and about a thousand times as heavy, KILLER!!!

  • at 45rpm it seems to be tuned in something between D and D#

  • Simply.... WONDERFUL!!!
