I have a feeling I'm going to get flamed for this but here goes. Putting Joan next to a classical powerhouse like Pavarotti was a bad choice. She sounds like a 15-year-old smoker. The pitch is very good i will concede, but I dislike her voice for this song. The contrast was not intriguing, it was instead obvious and embarrassing. :-/ Wonderfully done Pavarotti, however.
No flaming required. The reaction of the artists and the crowd at the end says it all. I suspect the folks that were there will remember for a lifetime. Just glad it can be shared on youtube (at least until the copyright gods discover it).

Osborne sounds like a bar singer with that "husky" voice, gotten from years inhaling smoke. She sings well, but Pavarotti needs someone more his equal, say someone like Beverly Sills.
Its funny how we view and hear things. I love her because of the unique, lovely voice that she weaves so beautifully thru whatever it is she is singing. and i respect your opnion too.....
Pavarotti was flawless. Wow

I think he has some problems with the high notes, he should stick with the lower octaves. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Very sweet. I don't think Joan was oversung, as some have suggested. I think it was a well balanced performance for both. I miss Pavarotti.

I love all these comments about Joan and nothing about Pavarotti being a big fat ass wop.

I come back to this site and listen regularly because I love this song so much. There is such sweetness here.

Amen, Marycaruso1, she should wear that out clubbing, not in concert with Pavarotti.

Thanks for posting this video. The way they used both Italian and English I used as the inspiration for singing it on Christmas eve.

He is the most amazing tenor of our time. 61 years old here and has a voice most 30-year-olds would kill for. Incredible.
Thank you Maestro.

@fatstrat06 is right on! I was thinking the same thing. The only thing that saves the performance is the beauty of the song itself.
