Its not because its cheap labor....its because the racking isnt solid at all...the guy was doing this right I know because I use lift truck at my job (caterpillar) and sometime we doing the same thing that this guy doing...but the racking dont collapse ont the floor....trust me i dont what im talking about.
to me, it seems like he is just trying to take a shortcut hence why he is forcing his way through a gap obviously too small, in his defense though, half of the blame goes to the management for violating safety not having the racks bolted tight to the floor... i hope staff did a strike after this.. unbelievable
@BobbyAndroid I agree but 50 percent is kinda rough, If the haulways werent so cluttered with shit it would have never happen...so in my opinion he should be fired for that...
Some forklift drivers are idiots. Forklifts work in 3 dimensions. If he raised his forks up over the barrels he would have had feet to spare. Granted the racking should never have given way like that.
I am a fork lift driver that is my job, and this guy should have been in reverse, so he would have been able to see if he could clear the drums AND the racking before the product on the forks ever hit, so YES it is his fault
bull shit all of you saying its his falt not at all. shit happens and plus selving sucked id say. and all of u who so what he shoulda or shouldnt have done drive a lift truck and then talk shit. i have and its harder then it looks
This just does not happen on it's own, steel shelving doesn't crumble like balsa wood. The government is definitely behind this, maybe it was a test run for 9/11
@KingIsulgard yea that was pretty dumb!! but he made it out alive. You can see the same reactions on youtube videos of people jumping out of their car's while the car loses traction on ice and such. Pretty silly but idk I guess some people think differently when such things happen.
@hackerz4life1Haha Mr Hacker "Businessman" you have removed all my comments you pussy blocker - proves you've just been PWNED 'cos you can't handle the pressure. LOL! You can't hack it. Some hacker! Some businessman! :)
I am still surprised that companies still purchase pallet racking in this day and age. There are companies that sell portable stacking racks that would avoid these types of accidents from happening almost altogether. Portable stacking racks should be used in all seismic zones such as California. They are designed to give and take like most new building/bridge codes require. The inspectors and state officials of CA. really need to look into this for everyone's safety
i have setup many bays and it wasn't the drivers fault but the store and contractors who built that system. that was some bad engineering, that is why you always have to anchor down the uprights to the floor and put safety bolts/cariage bolts on all beams. if i was that forklift driver i would have sued for putting me in unsafe and hazardous work conditions.
@IKILLBUST3RS But still as driver you have to look out not to drive into things... If he just backed up because it didn't fit tru, nothing happened.....
I work in a warehouse stock, and i have seen one leg give in MANY times.
I have actually destroyed one myself.
I have, however" NEVER seen a collapse like that.
I would say that ,means either bad frame work from the production company, or far more likely, bad security bad the company we are seeing pictures of.
LOL u retard that is standard racking used in warehouses factories shops home depots ikeas costcos... wow.. way over weight tho the material on the racks is why the main strut gave out

Was the warehouse manager's fault for stacking every square inch! Insurance Company must have screwed him hard for a lousy layout?

Bumping into the shelves should not have caused the entire thing to go collapsing like dominoes... poor construction. I would so have sued.
