IT is an m14. the m14 is a later model of the garand and they both look very similar. except the m14 has an underside clip (not shown here because they're firing blanks) and it is much slimmer.

@MrCassaroleCyrus No the railing on the front end of this rifle should clue you into the fact that this is modeled after the M14. Don't feel bad though, the M14 was created using the M1 Garand design as a base. However, there were some significant changes done to it. ex: New barrel size (.308), a magazine well, and railing on the top. There are more changes, but those are basically it.
@MrCassaroleCyrus The M14 is based on the same design as the M1 Garand, and actually stemed from it in terms of creation. M14 was the replacement for M1 Garand, but the M14 was quickly replaced by the M16 in Vietnam. So M14 has a very short service time.
@fwahoovaghad yeah im sort of wrong becuase the m14 is based on the m1 garand however it doesn't mean that the m14 is a garand. Likewise that doesn't mean an m21 is an m14 neither is the USMC DMR.
@fwahoovaghad M14 and M21 are pretty much identical, except the M21 has been accurized. Although, the M14 can't get much more accurate. That thing is a tack driver. M14/M1A = Greatest weapon system in the world, hands down. Reliable as a workhorse, accurate as hell, can reach out to rediculous distances, and as hard-hitting as a bus.
@sam9116 Actually, I would say its length is a good trait. Makes it more accurate and longer ranged. However, its recoil and weight are what I would call its only two weaknesses. But those are small faults compared to its amazing overall performance.
@sam9116 I wouldn't say poor performance (though I have never shot it myself), just its recoil and lack of a pistol grip (on standard stocks) makes it uncontrollable for most. The M14 was designed to be used mainly in semi-auto anyway. But I can see where its uncontrollability is a weakness. I think burst-fire would be more suited for the M14.

There's nothing wrong with airsoft. I have an airsoft gun and have played in some pretty big scenario games. I also have two AR15's. Both are fun in their own way, but airsoft is a very legit and practical training tool that you can use in your garage. Let's not forget that you can shoot dudes with an airsoft gun(in a game) without the consequences that come with killing or maming them. Of course, you can't go out to BLM land and "shoot stuff" from 300 yards with an airsoft gun. 100' maybe!

@MrCassaroleCyrus No the railing on the front end of this rifle should clue you into the fact that this is modeled after the M14. Don't feel bad though, the M14 was created using the M1 Garand design as a base. However, there were some significant changes done to it. ex: New barrel size (.308), a magazine well, and railing on the top. There are more changes, but those are basically it.

@MrCassaroleCyrus The M14 is based on the same design as the M1 Garand, and actually stemed from it in terms of creation. M14 was the replacement for M1 Garand, but the M14 was quickly replaced by the M16 in Vietnam. So M14 has a very short service time.

@fwahoovaghad M14 and M21 are pretty much identical, except the M21 has been accurized. Although, the M14 can't get much more accurate. That thing is a tack driver. M14/M1A = Greatest weapon system in the world, hands down. Reliable as a workhorse, accurate as hell, can reach out to rediculous distances, and as hard-hitting as a bus.

@sam9116 I wouldn't say poor performance (though I have never shot it myself), just its recoil and lack of a pistol grip (on standard stocks) makes it uncontrollable for most. The M14 was designed to be used mainly in semi-auto anyway. But I can see where its uncontrollability is a weakness. I think burst-fire would be more suited for the M14.

There's nothing wrong with airsoft. I have an airsoft gun and have played in some pretty big scenario games. I also have two AR15's. Both are fun in their own way, but airsoft is a very legit and practical training tool that you can use in your garage. Let's not forget that you can shoot dudes with an airsoft gun(in a game) without the consequences that come with killing or maming them. Of course, you can't go out to BLM land and "shoot stuff" from 300 yards with an airsoft gun. 100' maybe!
