  • Help pls..i cannot click on Timer Interval shooting as its not active-not highlighted...Whats wrong with my camera..pls help me

  • @sarojhbl Ensure you are in single-shot shooting mode. I can't recall what else causes that, and I don't have my camera handy. There are some camera functions that disable other functions. There is nothing wrong with your camera. Try changing continuous focus / shooting to single, etc.

  • Help? What is Auto Gain in the Multiple Exposure under shooting menu?

  • Thank you!

  • very good info mate! well appreciated as I just bought this camera yesterday!!

love it love it love it

  • I love how much you can do with the Nikon in the menu-system, but it's unnecessarily difficult to get it to do what you want (in my opinion). I prefer the Canon UI, because it's less intimidating, but it doesn't seem to do everything I'd like.

I'm ready for an SLR with a powerful UI that is also easy to use and understand.

  • the thing is alot of this stuff isnt availible on canons of the same range, and alot of the stuff in the canon menus have buttons or button combination on the d300 body.

Play with both for over a month and im sure you will understand I have fortunatly i know alot of photographers...most shoot canon :S it sucks i cant share their glass...haha unless i steal their cameras

  • oh and btw there is a custom menu where you can add shortcuts to any setting you want

  • thats one thing i hate about NIKON, is when you let your screen go for like 5 seconds because your looking at something then it shuts off! and then you have to go back into it..ahahhah...so annoying..why cant they make options to make it longer! lmao

im picking one of these up real soon! cant wait

  • Actually the LCD-sleep timer is configurable in most nikons, even the point and shoots. I just didn't bother to change mine.

  • Did you mention this method in any of your subsequent videos ?

  • No I didn't, I thought it was obvious enough. It's under Custom Settings -> Timers -> Menu Off Delay; item C4.

  • d300 can't shoot at 30fps

only 100 shot bursts at 6fps (8fps with battery pack) beforw buffer fills

time lapses are usually 1 exposure every 30 sec or 1 min

  • I'm not sure what you're referring to. Nobody says it can shoot 30fps. Time lapse can shoot any interval you want from every second to every day, and at those intervals it can shoot up to 9 consecutive shots (for bracketing for example)

  • at 6.21 you talk about that and how you'll need service after just one and a half hours.

  • That is after 1.5 hours of finished product, not 1.5 hours of shooting. 1.5 hour movie at 30 frames per second will be near 150,000 frames which is the stated shutter duty cycle. That means if you make a time laps movie that plays at 30 fps, and runs 7 minutes long, you'll have used 5% of your shutter life creating it.

  • wrong

  • You're wrong jani. He's not talking about RECORDING at 30fps, he's saying PLAYBACK at 30 fps. If you record at 1 fps for 1 minute, you will have 60 frames. This is 2 seconds of playback at 30fps. But you've still taken life off your shutter.

  • great walkthrough, all 5 stars!

  • Thanks for the videos. Spare me reading the manuel
