  • Deacy...didn't he play for PSV Eindhoven or something

  • my first ever game never forgotten how excited I was as a football mad 6 year old taken to the game decked out in a read & white bar scarf , my dad bought me a rossette as well still got the programme & ticket

  • Im related to Rod Thomas who played right back for Wales on this great occasion. What a good defender he was.

  • that sounds like a pro-welsh crowd how come bbc has union jacks irish flags no disrespect to either?

    cymru

  • Wow, Terry Yorath's tackle at 2:52 was an absolute shocker!! Definite red card in the modern game, as would have been Shilton's challenge for the penalty.

  • I was on the bus the other day and I picked up a news paper went to the back page and it said that aaron ramsey said he's as good as Wilshere and it still makes me laugh Welsh people don't even like football do they. don't matter anyway because they are shit at it even watching this video England dominated the game but the scrubbed it somehow they are shit and Im gonna bet £100 on England to win because wales are really that shit at football.

  • @DougIIGB So you thinking from watching the video that England dominated the game, Well i was at the match watching all of it and i can assure you they didn't, even with home advantage. Wales are worse now, especially without best player(s). The previous year, Wales were the only British team to make the Euro 1/4 finals. England didn't make it out of the qualifying group. In 75 i was also at Wembley when England scraped a draw with a late goal, so don't judge things you don't know about..

  • @DougIIGB

wales are shit, but so are england when it comes down to it....jog on fuckwit

  • iawn 'n hyderus gwrymiau ewyllysia enilla hon timeyour bau ydy awesome hefyd

  • for me, i think the key for welsh football is how they can develop young talent. without teams in the premiership it is difficult for cardiff and swansea to keep hold of the best welsh players.

i know im probably asking a bit much, but it would be fantastic if those 2 clubs could establish themselves in the premier league and just start to develop a couple of young welsh players each season.

if that can happen, and it is not out of the question, wales could just find themselves doing well.

  • ok i should of watched it all before i asked that haha

  • how won the game and what was the score?

  • As a washed-up, Sunday-league keeper, I'm constantly scouring YouTube for highlight reels of best saves. So why isn't Davies' stop at 7:46 in any of the ones I've seen so far? Channon cuts the ball back nicely to create the space and the Welsh boy's literally standing on his head.

Worth noting Keegan's touch, as well as his release ball in that sequence are world-class. No wonder he was a European Footballer of the year more than once.

  • so used to love the home internationals

  • I believe if Ryan Giggs becomes Welsh Manager, then we'll qualify foth both world cups and euro's

1978 WC, 1986 WC, 1992 euros, 1994 WC and 2004 Euro's is as close as it could've got for Wales and the final hurdle always seemed to go against us. It's cruel. We'll do it again one day and I believe if we do qualify, we won't be there to just make up the numbers.

  • @cardiff1984 Yes Wales have been really unlucky. Terrible refs v Scotland for 78 and 86. Penalty hit bar v Romania for 94. Being a top player is no guide at all to being a top manager. We did at least make the Euro 76 1/4 finals, then denied by ref v Yugoslavia. We could do with the special one Mourinho, but we can't afford him and he would need some persuading as his greatest challenge and possible triumph

  • Is it still politically correct to use the expression: Every Dog has his day?

  • Wow - I see why direct back passes were taken out of the game.

  • wales ad better players tan now

  • Shilton and his bare hands!

  • @ScotlandMaleGlasgow and only 30000 went back again lol

  • If only I were British and grew up during the 70s. How perfect football was.

  • Great to see Don Revie there. RIP.

  • Well, the year before we made the last 8 of Euro 76, the smallest country to have made the last 8 of both Euro and world cups. We came so close so often to world cup qualification but since the match v Romania in 93 (when we had a good team) it's seemed ever harder. We need a special one manager, cos we're likely to keep being drawn against top teams like Germany and Russia just to qualify..Greece won Euro 04 so it can be done.

  • @mizofan Great achievements, man bach. Pity there isn´t a World Championship for Holiday Cottage Incineration.

  • forever Wales !! a good game!

  • thanks for stating the obvious badongdi, we are all well aware of how much we suck; and inside I am in a constant state of depression knowing that I will probably never live to see us qualify for a major tournament.

  • you suck now wales...

  • well done Wales

  • Beating England in Wembley is the only time i'd ever be happy standing next to a Cardiff fan cheering with him.

  • What happened to James?

BTW not sure but is Yorath is a Welsh name? Guess you might google it and hope it doesn't turn out English.

  • Yorath is actually a Celtic name, or more accurately, Irish.

  • No it's not it's Welsh. It came from Iorwerth.

  • Yorath comes from the old Welsh name Iorwerth

  • my name is will yorath and im welsh i think im related

  • yo dude its yepes what up

  • Happy memories- i was there, a young lad, behind the goal when Leighton scored. One of Terry Yorath's proudest moments and he did great

  • wheres shilton's gloves?.....i prefered clemence anyhow!

  • makes me so happy to know that we've done the English at wembley!!!

leighton james is still a prick though

  • Unlucky for some not for Wales the 13 game

at wembley for Wales and they get there Win and it was that Welsh wing wizard himself

who put away away a neat penalty L-JAMES a

great night for welsh football thanks.

  • CYMRU AM BYTH!!

Anyone got the 3-0 over Spain?

  • Did you find it?

Any idea,s how many were at the Racecourse that night pal?

  • Sure did! And there's many of us who WISH we'd been there :)

  • England failing to pick a settled side? Nothing Changes!
