1080p is not full HD anymore.. some displays such as dell ultrasharp or apple cinema goes beyond the standard 1080p resolution.. You can only take advantage of such resolutions with computers..

the game mode cuts out allot of the post processing that the tv does to the image.what this does is it cuts out the lag between your console and the tv.the picture might not look as good but your tv will respond better. what i have found is that most of the post processes are worthless anyways and unless you have a 50inch tv you wont even notice that you are gone.(unless your really really picky)

In my opinon, 24" is as big as you need for a gaming setup. But it depends how far away you sit from your TV. My setup that im saving for will have my 22" Monitor, with a 22" TV next to it (kind of Dual Monitor style). But thats sitting at a desk, so im about 50cm from the screen. Nice setup though :)
