5months aint nothing, he have been drumming for 16 years(or he said on his introducing so). It takes many years until you can see some big progress on your drumming, this aint easy :P But train daily and it will train u to the max!

I spend a lot of time practicing on pillows. Also practicing with bigger sticks might help too. Just do some basic stuff from singles to doubles, paradiddles and so forth. Derek Roddy's stamina/power training method on pillows sounds like a killer workout for me, maybe try that for a change?

That cymbal choke blast was pretty cool, I've never seen or heard that before, well at least to my knowledge. So you're just using your fingers for those blasts? I never use them for anything, but I'm not that fast either.

I saw George Kollias doing the cymbal choke blast with Sickening Horror, after seeing that I simply had to learn it. Yes, I use only fingers for blastbeats (+ moeller w/ right hand).

Im not sure about what model Tama drums those are, 'cause the kit isn't mine. But I'm sure the config is 10", 12", 14" toms and 18" bass drums.

u got some good technique watch ur pinkie tho ipersonaly dont use it for anything other than control but if u do use it to power ur stick i would recomend keeping it on the stick nice footwork too

ye man my teacher lewis is fucking awsome, wen he plays his style is simular to urs i think, he keeps saying the hands should do the work and the arms just direct, iam well tempted to get myself a double pedal coz i no that it wuld still be a gd blast but he keeps saying its a lazy way of drumming and he himself had one and claimed he was relying on it to much and his skills werent as good, wat u recon?

It is possible to rely on your double pedal in a way that in time it effects your skills. But it doesn't have to be that way. For example the last blast in this vid: I started practicing one legged blast many many years after learning the two feet blast, it's never too late to learn these things. But if you haven't got your double pedal yet, I recommend that you at least learn the very basics of a single pedal work before going any further. Say hello to your teacher from me. :)

For example: practicing a basic single stroke roll helps. Also, I once played in this hc/grind/punk band called Officer Down, there was a lot of blastbeats in that stuff so I simply had to learn it one way or the other.

The kit in this video isn't mine, it belongs to my friend Panu. Anyway, Panu uses Axis longboards and Ddrum triggers along with Alesis DM5 drum module. I use the same, except for the pedals: Pearl PowerShifter Eliminator. Thank you very much for your kind words!

Well, I probably have too much to ask. But I'll ask a quick one. I am having trouble playing double bass. I can play it, but its never clean and consistent. Do you know of any exercises that I could do to help me out?

The foot exercise that Derek Roddy explains in his first drum video has done wonders for me, you should really get that. Also I've been practicing single foot blastbeat for some time now, playing solely with my right foot or with my left. That too helped me to keep my double bass even and strong. I'm still working on it, though.
