I liked Carnie on the show and didn't see her as bitchy , but just honest with her feelings and fears.
I didnt think she was nasty to her husband. It seemed the other way around to me. I thought he was so cold to her and went out of his way invalidate her feelings.
Maybe she was nicer around her gay friends because she felt safe and not judged by them.

the only reason i checked her show out was because i wanted to see if the clip was before her surgery or if she actually put weight back on after having her stomach chopped away.
I don't think we have it on any of our cable channels now my curiosity is piqued. I saw her years ago on some talk show and at that time she was doing ok...and I actually liked what she was saying then... but that could be different now. I'll have to keep an eye open for it.

I commend her for being so public with everything. It takes a very brave person to do the things she does.
As for her transition into baking, she loves to not only bake but cook, and it's not just for herself it's for others around her. She really loves to watch people eat, it gives her a sense of satisfaction. Read her cook book To Serve with Love it will tell you everything you want to know. Plus you'll find some really killer recipes like her Fall to your knees mac and cheese super delish!
I think GSN is producing the show in a way to get people to watch her other show. It seemed most of the time she was acting it out, thus being so over the top. Love your videos! Question- I am having the surgery in April and I am a kidney patient- I had a large infection stone (staghorn calculi) removed in 2004 with two "tunnel surgeries' left kidney. My urologist is not thrilled that I opted for this surgery cuz H20 intake is crucial post surgery and he is concerned I will not be able to stay hydrated enough post-bypass. May I ask what type of kidney issue you had and is it related to mine and do you have issues with staying hydrated enough?
Too funny. After I watched your video, the next video that popped up was for Carnie Wilson's new show trailer. How funny is that. LOL. As far as my opinion goes, she is not the role model for me as far as WLS. Everyone on Youtube that documents their journey are my role models. Thanks to everyone who shares their journey.

Hi Divataunia - I think what really rubs you the wrong way about CW is that she is not a positive role model for WLS and yet she is the one that gets all the media attention because media loves Failure. You on the other hand are a very positive role model for WLS. You're positive, passionate and pro-actively work to ensure your WLS is a success and you help so many others as well. Personally I think CW got WLS as a quick fix to have kids & now that she has that she is not motivated.
p.s. Love that the blonde is back. Brunette was good as well just more serious. Being blonde makes you much more glamorous, just like a Diva should be :)

Oh, I get that and I think that's the only reason that I have sympathy. Like I said, I can't imagine being scrutinized so publicly on top of trying to manage the weight too....and obviously, I have no clue how being pregnant affects things, so I have no place to say anything there.
BUT - there wasn't ONE likeable moment with her on the show (to me). Even the salon scene seemed coerced and overacted. I want to relate to her, but I have such a hard time because she was too bitter.
Really? I found her silly and very likable. The only part I found unreal was the salon. Dramatic. But, then again, that's exactly what it's like where I get my hairs did.
I don't know....it seems like there's no lesser of two evils to me. Eating and food addiction was just as detrimental to me as drinking is to an alcoholic. Well on one hand, I think she is a good representation of wls - it's not a cure-all, and there's possibility of weight gain and continual struggles....people need to know that. On the other hand, I think she's making some bad choices and is clearly angry and bitter - and there seemed to be no happiness at all in her life right now, which makes me feel sad...and not the greatest representation, you know? Sigh. I feel bad disliking her and her show, though.

before i see your video i didnt get what i was expecting from the show either...it was half hour i expected if not 2 hr premiere at least one hour...i am going to watch more Unstapled, because shes carnie wilson, and her adventures make me curious, and the whole gastric(did she say she was gonna try again? :) neway, the show was ehh, (because wasnt all i expected/prob cause the time) it didnt leave me wanting more, but i am going to watch more.(give it a shot! :)

Read her cookbook To Serve with Love, She has healthy recipes in there, she lists what she calls The Sinful version and then The Skinny version.

Baking or drinking, she's trading one addiction for the other!! I kinda liked the show, because it shows the "real stuff" that we go through. Trying to balance our lives and lose weight- we all have been there. I don't like Jillian Michaels either. She is mean and if it were me she were yelling at, I'd strangle her with her own hair!! I'm going to watch Carnie a couple more times and then I'll grade it. Thanks for your insight.

Love your videos! Question- I am having the surgery in April and I am a kidney patient- I had a large infection stone (staghorn calculi) removed in 2004 with two "tunnel surgeries' left kidney. My urologist is not thrilled that I opted for this surgery cuz H20 intake is crucial post surgery and he is concerned I will not be able to stay hydrated enough post-bypass. May I ask what type of kidney issue you had and is it related to mine and do you have issues with staying hydrated enough?

Too funny. After I watched your video, the next video that popped up was for Carnie Wilson's new show trailer. How funny is that. LOL. As far as my opinion goes, she is not the role model for me as far as WLS. Everyone on Youtube that documents their journey are my role models. Thanks to everyone who shares their journey.

honestly, haven't watched the show; HOWEVER, i do have my opinions about the other stuff.
a) i think she's been brave from day 1 of letting everyone in on her journey - so that's great. it's actually amazing.
2) why the hell did she start baking in the first place? i'm leaving it at that.
last) you shouldn't get negative feedback, ESPECIALLY bc you're talking about her personality. if it sucks, it sucks. ya know?
ps) i hate that little fake rendition of hold on she does in the commercial. ugh.

would you put an alcoholic in a bar? NO!
so don't put a food addict in the kitchen...baking...if she wants to do whole foods and cook, fine... maybe pick up knitting needles and knit.. go to gym or pool and exercise.
glad she's OUT about the surgery, but she hasn't been totally successful and the media feeds on this, why not do reality show with SUCCESSFUL wls people? just my thoughts....

because, unfortunately, people like to laugh & talk crap about fat people. they also want to see some drama. this isn't right, by any standard ... it's just the truth.
tv networks make money any way they can ... and they just happened to pick a famous WLS regain that, with her horrible habits, will help exploit all WLSers. sad. really sad.

I'm sick to death of CW!!! She's just a MEDIA WHORE! I saw her on Larry King, and she made me sick! I actually LIKED Jillian Michaels on the show. She was trying to talk sensably to CW, who was just making excuses for her weight problem. Again, she makes me want to PUKE!

I think to each their own...with what they do with their lives..Everyone is entitled to their own opinions...Sometimes things just get to be a bit to much for each of us.. Being on & off camera/in the public's eye there's totally 2 different sides...Think she's been viciouisly attacked and on display long enough for the publics button end of jokes..to long from her family life w/ her dad to her surgery...Take care of you & yours.

Hi Divataunia - I think what really rubs you the wrong way about CW is that she is not a positive role model for WLS and yet she is the one that gets all the media attention because media loves Failure. You on the other hand are a very positive role model for WLS. You're positive, passionate and pro-actively work to ensure your WLS is a success and you help so many others as well. Personally I think CW got WLS as a quick fix to have kids & now that she has that she is not motivated.

I think C.W. path was set by doing her surgery on line...being so public to this day. I can't get the channel that puts her show on...darn....maybe you tube or hulu has it.

Oh, I get that and I think that's the only reason that I have sympathy. Like I said, I can't imagine being scrutinized so publicly on top of trying to manage the weight too....and obviously, I have no clue how being pregnant affects things, so I have no place to say anything there.
BUT - there wasn't ONE likeable moment with her on the show (to me). Even the salon scene seemed coerced and overacted. I want to relate to her, but I have such a hard time because she was too bitter.

Really? I found her silly and very likable. The only part I found unreal was the salon. Dramatic. But, then again, that's exactly what it's like where I get my hairs did.

I don't know....it seems like there's no lesser of two evils to me. Eating and food addiction was just as detrimental to me as drinking is to an alcoholic. If I was an alcholic, I wouldn't be a bartender, you know? It's hard enough to get through the day and make good choices without making it even harder by being around sugar at all times. But if it makes her happy, maybe she can make it work. It just seems to hard to me.

show, i think we should give it a chance, yes carnie sounds controlling, u should see her on the newlyweds game as a contestant :), i love how upfront she is about her surgery, and i hope thats what the majoirty of the show will be about, and her baking, its great esp if she wants to make a businss of it, but to taste everything, or ...it depends if she eats a lot of that baking, on one hand i feel its, detrimental, or not so good for her surgery, but if it keeps her occupied of fills her with

Well on one hand, I think she is a good representation of wls - it's not a cure-all, and there's possibility of weight gain and continual struggles....people need to know that. On the other hand, I think she's making some bad choices and is clearly angry and bitter - and there seemed to be no happiness at all in her life right now, which makes me feel sad...and not the greatest representation, you know? Sigh. I feel bad disliking her and her show, though.

@AntoniaTakeTwo She used to be someone who "all of us" looked up to -- I mean ppl had surgery BECAUSE of her. LOL. Now, she's representing much of the things that Can Go Awry because WLS doesn't fix your brain, too.

before i see your video i didnt get what i was expecting from the show either...it was half hour i expected if not 2 hr premiere at least one hour...i am going to watch more Unstapled, because shes carnie wilson, and her adventures make me curious, and the whole gastric(did she say she was gonna try again? :) neway, the show was ehh, (because wasnt all i expected/prob cause the time) it didnt leave me wanting more, but i am going to watch more.(give it a shot! :)
