I have a baby kitten she is about 6 months old and 4 weeks ago we introduced her to the older cat's but they hissed at her grawled and the oldest cat slaped her but my honey bun is trying to get along and make friends. But im going to try this in a while. Thank you!!!!

I put my puppy in a pen, and yes he does howl if someone leaves the room, but it is much more saddening to me if he were in a crate instead. We put him in there so the four cats we have can walk around and get to know him, without anyone hurting eachother... Crate training doesn't bother me, but when they say to "leave" them in there, it is just too much. Poor animal.

anyways, when my lil sis got her kitty, all we had to do was hold her in our arms, and let our 2 dogs sniff her a bit.

kittens are like human babies, they are very curious on what they see/touch(and taste). so after just a few hours of our dogs smelling the kitty, they were already accustomed with eachother

the dogs still showed dominance, but in a nonthreatening way :')

I'm sorry but why have a pet at all if you can't handle them jumping on furniture? If the animal doesn't have it's own furniture, it will want to jump on something? The world is NOT flat. Tables and counters, yeah, are off limits, but the bed and couch are soft, and are supposed to be sat on. Except by my cat who loves linoleum and concrete more than kibble.

I agree. And I love my pet more than any piece of furniture in the house. Furniture can be bought and replaced anytime. The love of a pet can not. And a pet can be trained not to damage the furniture. And the furniture will anyway get older and show signs of use in a few years...with of without the help of the house pet.

I remember I cried when I found one of my damaged pair of shoes... I was not crying for the shoes but for remembering my dog who did that and who died a few years before.

Oh yes I do agree with you XxXFPVXxX ! Now what does she teach us ? To put our cats in "cages" every day while we are away (for example at work/school)? That's hilarious. She was talking about introducing 2 cats to one another so they get friendly ... and about caging them in such limited space while away from home. They will eventually drive crazy ... both of them :-) so where is the reason we first get them friendly? :-)

@XxXFPVXxX Hows that cruel? In nature cats and dogs hide and sleep in holes, cracks, crevices, caves, etc etc etc. They see stuff like crates as a safe place to sleep, just like you would your own bedroom. Humans think it’s cruel but it’s just nature to the animals.
