Actually, there are a significant (but not a lot) number of cases of people who *do* have miraculous remissions in regards to cancer. This phenomenon is rarely studied, however...if you're interested in this, check out Deepak Chopra's work.
I believe you've missed the point of the message mate. There was likely more to his ability to live longer in spite of having cancer than mind power BUT having the right attitude and truly believing that something good will happen is an important first step to accomplishing anything. If you think you can or can't you're right, he obviously thought he could beat his illness.
